20. Guilty as Charged

All of the werewolves in the hall could not believe anything their Empress was saying. Maya was sobbing and practically getting all the sympathy from everyone, as she could not go against the Emperor and save her son and his family. Many omegas and betas were traumatized by the new revelation and their mates were comforting them while still trying to understand the whole situation. 

Antonio could not take this reaction from all these people who do not hold a light to his position. He mustered up his courage to get up, but his legs were shivering letting everyone know how weak their Emperor is and how disgusting his acts were towards his own family. "You think you can just blame me for these things, why would I ever try to harm my own son and his family? Tell me why you are doing this to me?" Antonio said while looking at Maya with his eyes filled with tears, thinking his tears will clear the doubts rising in everyone's heart. 

"Why! you ask why I am blaming you for this, then who should I blame? You did not liked Enzo because he was an omega that too a male omega, you did not wanted Dario to marry an omega from unknown origins that's why you killed that poor thing and then you practically forced Dario to take his own life, otherwise he could not have lost a fight with you who is so weak. I lost my child because of your selfish desires, and I could not help him at that time because I was too scared of you but now it's different, you have to accept that it was you who took Dario's life." Maya screamed at Antonio, her breathing ragged and face covered with tears, hairs all messed up. She looked nothing like the perfect lady, she just looked a broken women crying for her dead son. 

Gio looked at her puzzled, if he didn't know it better, he would have thought she was never involved in all those crimes. But he stayed quite he wanted to see how it will unfold, how Antonio will react to this, and in anyway it will be difficult for her to get out of this unharmed, she practically accepted that she was involved in this. Gio was also getting sick of their acts, he was already on the edge to end this and run to his mate. He had been stealing glances at Levi who is still kneeling down like every other wolf in the room. His pretty face was all red and sweaty because of his alpha's pheromones. Gio knew better than anyone that it will be difficult for Levi to stay like that for too long, he is exposed to his alpha's pheromones for far too long and he could also go in heat. And he has to wrap everything up before that happens. 

Antonio glared at his wife 'this foolish woman, what does she think she is saying. Even if she is trying to save herself, I will not let that happen.'  Antonio tried to slowly walk towards his wife, while he could hear the whispers in the room. He ignored them and just looked at his wife once he reached her. "If you think you can get out of this alive, then you are sorely mistaken I will not let that happen." Antonio said with his gritted teeth's. 

"I am not afraid of you anymore; I have got my brother back he will protect me, and you will pay for your crimes. Yes, Sebastian is back he is the real Sebastian Adamos." Maya said boldly while looking at all the people in the hall, everyone gasped and looked at Sebastian. "I am sorry brother I did not recognize you from the start, but I do now. I have missed you over the years." It was true that maya did miss Sebastian, but only because Antonio always neglected her. When Sebastian was around, he used to make sure Maya is doing good and even while she was pregnant, he used to treat her better than her own husband. Even though she thinks of Sebastian as her brother, she could not help but crave for his warmth and affection. She wanted to be the only one Sebastian is this affectionate with and whenever he was around, she never cared about Antonio. 

"It is alright, I know Maya you have gone through a lot, I hope things will get better for both of us from here on." Sebastian said as warmth filled Maya, hearing the same caring and loving voice. She knew it then that Sebastian did not know that it was her who asked Antonio to kill him and of course she knew this does not have to get out. For that she just needs Gio to believe she was not involved and take Antonio out of the picture. She was getting desperate.
