17. Sabastian Adamos

People gathered around the stage as the King addressed to them. Everyone's eyes were focused on him. He extended his hand towards the Emperor and the Empress requesting them to join him on the stage. The whole place was filled with cheerful happiness. As the Emperor and the Emperess walked towards the stage were a beautiful and 3-layer cake was placed on top of the circular table. The tablecloth and the cake matched the rest of the decoration. It looked like a part of it even though it was just now placed there. 

As both the rulers of the empire stood their one in aww and the other smiled at his wife and appreciated his son and cheered along with the other. But that was only on the outside, inside his mind was a mess, he could not understand anything at this time. He was still waiting for his guard to return to his post. It was already past half an hour since he went and has not returned. He was getting worried thinking the worst but did not show it on his face. 

"Oh my god, Gio you did all this, it's so beautiful." Maya spoke as her eyes sparkled and she cupped his sons face brought it down to her level and kissed his forehead. She felt so lucky and happy to have a son like him. She knew things were not that good between them, but it might be the start of something new. She will keep his son safe and have a happy blissful life with her family. Hazel walked to them, and Maya hugged also her.  Even though she is an Emperess, but she would act as loving as possible towards her children. She really did not hate anyone of them, but she wants them to prioritize her and her husband the most.

"If you liked it this much then definitely you will love my present." Gio spoke with honey sweet voice while looking at his so-called mother. But he felt happy when he saw the Emperor he could fool the whole world but not him. He knew he is getting desperate to know the surprise and be prepared for anything which is going to take everything away from him. He knew if the emperor got to know this, he definitely won't hesitate to take him out of the picture. And before that happens, he has to take him out of there. He cannot go on with this toxic duo of parents the goddess blessed or maybe cursed him with.

Vincenzo was also standing there on the stage with the whole family. Though he did not know the whole truth, but he still did not like his parents for some unknown reason. It was like his gut feeling telling him to not get too involved with them. He was standing in the side after greeting his parents and wishing them. 

Maya looked at her husband and snaked her hand in his " I am so happy. This is something we always wanted..." Her eyes moist as her voice broke. "Let's cut the cake together." She said with a smile forming on her face. Everyone in the room felt jealous of the family bonding happening on the stage and most of them wanted to be a part of this. They envied them without knowing the truth behind this happy family. 

Antonio looked at her and nodded his head "Of course darling, this is the happiest day of our life. And I want it to be memorable...." He said as he looked at her with deep adoration and then looked around. Maya furrowed her eyebrows and asked, "What happened?" 

"I was looking for my guard, he can bring my camera and we can have a family photo. I want it to be a memorable day for all of us." He said the last line while looking directly at Gio's eyes. 

Gio scoffed mentally, is he a kid playing such tricks. "You do not have to worry, I have called the photographers, and they will get the photos and even film the whole thing." As soon as the words registered in Antonio's mind he flinched. He was not getting good feeling at all. He knows something is fishy but what he cannot pinpoint it.  

"Oh, that's a great idea, we can also watch this later on." Hazel chirped in between. If she is being filmed, she will have to look her best she thought, she fixed her hair and her dress, which made Vincenzo roll his eyes and her mother chuckled at her antics. But Antonio was not happy with this he wanted his trusted guards near him, it was getting hard for him to find them anywhere near him now. He was getting restless from inside. But he cannot refuse or do anything. He also acted like it was a brilliant idea and then patted Hazels back.
