Caught in the spotlight

Shubman faced a tough challenge when he lost muscle mass due to dengue. Despite feeling a bit weak, he refused to give up. He was determined to bounce back in the next match.

Sara's birthday was around the corner too. Despite not being in the best of moods, she decided to celebrate her special day in a low-key way. And Shubman, being the lover boy that he is, made sure to send her a cake and flowers to show his love and make her birthday a little brighter. Even though the circumstances limited what he could do, he made sure to find a way to make her feel special and loved.

The day after, Shubman made it into the playing 11 for the match against Pakistan. He was over the moon with happiness and couldn't wait to get back on the field. Even though he wasn't completely fit, he didn't let that stop him. Shubman tried to give it his best and India won the match.

As the match came to an end, the players wandered around the ground. Shubman's eyes caught sight of Virat, who was conversing in actions with Anushka. Seeing them together, a wave of longing washed over Shubman. He couldn't help but imagine Sara, in the stands, cheering him on with support.

When the team arrived back at the team hotel, Shubman couldn't resist calling Sara because he missed her immensely.

Sara (picked up the call): Hey cutieee!!

Shubman: That was my line.

Sara: I stole it from you. Achha, tell me how was your experience? How did it feel to be back on the field?

Shubman: It was the best feeling!!! I couldn't score much tho.

Sara: It's fine, Shub!! You are still recovering. And I know that you'll be back with a bang in the next match.

Shubman: Thank you, Sara!! Achha listen, I wanted to ask you something.

Sara: I have something to ask you as well. But you go first!!

Shubman: What do you want to ask?

Sara: I don't know how to put it in words.

Shubman: Just say it baby!!

Sara: Okay but let me give you a heads-up first.

Shubman: Heads-up? What's the matter??? Why are you being so nervous??

Sara: I don't knowww!! It's just that I've never had this conversation with you before.

Shubman: Okay, stop testing my patience level now and just say it.

Sara: I so wanted to be there for you in Chennai but I couldn't. It ached my heart to see you in that condition and not being able to help you in any way. And when I was watching you play today, I just couldn't help but wish to cheer for you from the stands. I really want to be there for you in the next match. But I know this is not possible. Why did I even ask?!

Shubman: Baby...

Sara (didn't listen to him): I am such a fool. Please just forget whatever I said. Let's talk about something else. What do you want to tell me?

Shubman: Listen to meeee!! Bolti hi jaati ho?! Meri baat toh suno!!

Sara: Haa??

Shubman: Can you please be there in the stands, cheering for me, in the next match? Please??

Sara: Let's not talk about this. Woh toh I said aise hi...

Shubman: But this is what I wanted to ask you!!

Sara: Wait what??

Shubman: Yeah!! I saw Virat bhai talking with Anushka bhabhi after the match and I don't know why but I started imagining you in the stands, cheering for me.
