Chapter 15

Days have passed since the events in the Maldives.

I haven't seen Axel, and I miss him even though I know he's involved with someone else.

Natalie and Xian advised me to block Axel, so I did as they suggested.

I can't help but wonder about the woman he's with.

I gave myself to Axel, and he's cheating on me!? Maybe Axel was right about our relationship being purely for marriage, but is it easy for him to do something that hurts his wife? At least, his wife on paper.

It's hard for me to accept that I love him, but he loves another woman. The truth indeed hurts, as they say.

Days have passed since my return home, and Axel's parents came to our house to apologize for his actions.

I forgave him, even though he didn't offer an apology.

Five weeks have passed since I learned that Axel is back in the Philippines with his brother, Xavier.

As it's the last month of college, I plan to pursue my dream after graduation.

Becoming a doctor makes me believe I can make a difference in people's lives.

My father initially opposed my choice to become a doctor, wanting me to study law instead. However, my mom supported my aspiration to become a doctor. In the end, my dad relented and agreed to my decision.

Feeling a bit bored, I invited Natalie and Xian for a shopping trip. Unfortunately, Xian couldn't make it as he was busy studying for his pilot's license. He promised to make it up to us, so it was understandable.

During our shopping trip in BGC, I unexpectedly saw Axel, and he noticed me too. Upon spotting him, I quickly grabbed Natalie's wrist and headed in the opposite direction.

Natalie was initially puzzled but soon realized the situation upon seeing Axel approaching us.

As we hastened our pace, Axel caught up and grabbed my wrist, causing my heart to race. I met his gaze, and he was looking directly at me.

"Hun, please let me explain," he pleaded.

In response, Natalie slapped him.

"You fool! Even if we share the same group of friends, I won't tolerate such behavior from you!" Natalie's voice was laced with anger.

Axel was visibly taken aback by Natalie's actions.

Xian, Natalie, Mateo, Axel, and I have been friends since high school. Mateo is currently studying in the U.S.

"Hun, please let me explain first," Axel implored.

How could I resist him? Despite everything, I still have deep feelings for him.

"Alright, meet me at our favorite café at 10 AM tomorrow," I said.

"I expect your explanation to be sincere and convincing."

"Seriously, Riela!? That idiot hurt you! And what? You're willing to hear him out? Wasn't what you saw proof enough!?" Natalie's tone was filled with frustration.

"Let's head home. I'll explain everything to you there," I said, gently guiding her as she was pregnant.

"Fine!"

"Stay away from riela, you idiot!" Natalie shot him a fierce glare.

An hour later, I confided in Natalie about my decision. She reluctantly agreed to support me as long as Axel doesn't cause me any further pain. Not physical pain, but emotional pain.

Following that incident, Axel clarified that the woman was his girlfriend and a close friend. I resented him for being a red flag.
