Chapter 18

I went straight home after what I saw. Is it really Axel? If it really is, I don't know anymore.

I suddenly woke up and looked at the clock, it was already 10:10 PM, and Axel hadn't come home yet. Where is that guy?

It's almost midnight. I decided to wait for him and went to the kitchen to get some milk to drink while waiting.

As time went by, it was already 12 AM, and he still hadn't come home. I started to worry about him, especially since I'm the type of person who always overthinks.

I tried to call him, but no one answered.

I looked at the clock again. It was 1:36 AM.

Then, I realized I had fallen asleep while waiting.

Suddenly, I heard someone open the main door.

I saw Axel, he was drunk. I went towards him, about to help him, but then...

“Don't come near me!”

I was shocked that he started to shout.

Was he angry with me?

“You ruined everything!”

“You fucking ruined it!” He shouted angrily.

H-huh?

What did I ruin?

Did I do something wrong?

I was so confused.

I walked towards him and helped him, even though he tried to push me.

Thankfully, I succeeded in putting him on the couch since he was heavy.

As he slept, I took the chance to take good care of him. I wiped his face with a hot towel.

“What did I ruin, hun?”

I asked, even though I knew he was drunk and couldn't answer. I was going crazy now.

“Did I do something that makes you mad?”

I asked again, tears escaping from my eyes.

“Was it you I saw in the mall with the same girl you've been with?”

Maybe that was not him. I kept denying it, even though I was hurt and knew that it was him.

After taking care of him, I felt sleepy and slept on the other couch.

As the sun hit my face and I woke up, I watched him as he was still sleeping and smiled, even though it hurt.

I decided to cook breakfast for both of us. After cooking, I took a shower.

After taking a bath, I went towards the kitchen and saw Axel drinking milk.

“Good morning, hun” he said happily.

He walked towards me and gave me a light kiss on the lips.

He walked towards me happily, like nothing happened last night.

“Good morning,” I said.

“How's your sleep?” I asked.

“Great.”

“Why were you so late coming home yesterday?”

“We had a little celebration and had a little drink.” he made an excuse.

“Oh, okay, but why didn't you update me so I wouldn't be worried about you?”

“I forgot, sorry hun.”

As he apologized and put his arms around my waist, he knew that I was upset and mad.

“Sorry, hun,” he said, making puppy eyes at me.

Who couldn't resist this guy? Uh, just me.

“It's okay as long as you're going home safe” I said and smiled at him, not letting him think that I was still upset and mad at him.

Suddenly, his phone rang, named Ell. I asked him who it was, and he said his coworker.

He immediately answered it and went to the garden. I felt something was not right. As he came towards me after answering it and excused himself, saying he had an emergency meeting at the company.

“Hun, my co-worker just called and said there's an emergency meeting at the company.”

“At this early hour?! It's just 8 in the morning, Axel.”

“Sorry, hun, but I need to go to the emergency meeting.”

“Okay, fine.”

He kissed my forehead and went straight to the bedroom to shower and change.

As he forgot to bring his phone with him, I picked it up and remembered the password. I was nervous as I watched who called and texted him, but thankfully, there were no girls' messages. But I really felt something was wrong and decided to turn on the location on his phone. Then I heard him walking towards me, so I placed his phone where he left it and drank my milk.

As he came towards me and kissed me, he was wearing formals that he didn't wear wherever he goes at the office.

“I'm going now, hun. Love you.”

“Okay, take care.”

After he had left, I called Xian and messaged Natalie to come over to the house.
