I feel greasy and uncomfortable as I step out of the airport into the fresh cold air of London.
"I need a shower and sleep stat" I grumble to Kyara.
"Well we have been traveling for about 31 hours so I don't blame you" Kyara replies.
"Ugh has it been that long it feels like years, let's just grab a taxi and go" I grumble.
"Agreed" says Kyara. We walk to the curb and grab a taxi fairly quickly which I am grateful for and we are on our way.
"So where are you two off to then?" the cab driver asks. I scream internally at the pommy accent. Oh my god I'm in London. Kyara gives the address to our new apartment and we pull out of the airport pick up.
"Where are you girls from?" He asks recognizing an accent.
"Australia" Kyara says. I'll just sit back and let her do the talking.
I'm glad at least one of us is chatty and not the most awkward person in the world.
"Wow a long way to come for two young ladies like you" he says surprised.
"Yeah, it's been quite a long trip here but I'm glad we made it" Kyara says, beaming.

"Here we are" the taxi driver pulls in front of a block of tall flats with miss matched grey bricks some darker than the others.
The apartments were tall dull and squished together with black rusted pipes running along the outside. A black picked fence guarded the outside the buildings with a small strip of grass on the inside of the fence giving it more colour.
Kyara pays the cab driver because God knows how well I'd do with the money. The concept of Pounds have gone straight over my head do far.
"I'm so glad you've been to London before otherwise I would be a lost puppy in this place" I say to Kyara, looking at the building in awe.
"Well don't expect me to be the master, the holiday was like 6 years ago for only 2 weeks" she says.
"Well you already know a hell of a lot more than me" I say.
"The real estate agency said the keys would be in our mailbox" Kyara says marching towards what looked like mailboxes that were embedded into a brick wall in front of the flat.
"Uuuhh what flat number are we again?" Kyara asks.
"Aren't I supposed to be the forgetful one? And it's 2B" I answer.
"Yeah, you are the forgetful one it was just a weak moment for me. Found it!!" she squeals showing the silver keys. We run up to the door and fumble the key into the lock.
"This block is split into two flats so we might have some awkward bumping into our neighbour's situation" Kyara warns.
"I hope the person or people are not hot guys I don't think I would handle it I would be so awkward, maybe some nice old lady" I say.
"I wouldn't mind a hot British guy next door, it'd make good company" Kyara chuckles, winking at me.
"Ugh whatever" I scoff opening the door.
"Soooooo many stairs" I grumble.
"Come on let's just get this over with" Kyara says.
"Do I have too, it looks like Mount Everest" I pout.
"Yes, unless you want the new neighbors to come see you laying on the ground, you twat" Kyara says.
"Ugh I guess" I say grabbing my suitcase lugging it up the stairs. After a billion flights we were finally here, our apartment.
