Chapter 9

                  

I wake up to the roar of the bus in the morning and the sky has cleared into a blue crisp colour.

I roll out of bed and leave Kyara to sleep a little longer. I go to the kitchen and start to make some tea.

So British, I know.

I grab out the cereal that Dan recommended and start to serve myself into a bowl. I quickly finish it as it is very delicious and go have a shower.

I get dressed in a kinda Tumblr outfit that I'm quite proud of and then head back to my room. As I thought Kyara was still sound asleep in bed, her arms and legs scrawled out on where I used to lay.

"Time to get up" I say tugging on the sheets.

"WHY DO YOU HAVE TO GET ME UP SO EARLY WE DON'T EVEN NEED TO DO ANYTHING TODAY" Kyara grumbles.

"Well we don't have half the furniture we need which is not the point because Dan and Phil invited us over today" I say tugging again at the sheets.

"It's too early they won't even be up" Kyara grumbles.

"It's 10 and they will be up because they're expecting us" I say.  Kyara rolls out of bed and falls to the ground with a groan.

"They're lucky I like them" Kyara says and goes off to get ready. She quickly gets ready and serves her yogurt and fruit for breakfast. She leans of the kitchen counter and gives me a look.

"So you and Dan" Kyara says raising an eyebrow.

"Don't be ridiculous" I say with a laugh of disbelief.

"You two seemed to click pretty well, that's all, and you've had a crush on him for all these years, those feeling don't just go away" Kyara says.

"Well Kyara if you haven't noticed he's a worldwide internet sensation and has a choice on pretty much any girl he wants. We don't even know how his dating life is going" I say.

"Well from the way you two seemed after grocery shopping and monopoly it seemed crystal clear" Kyara says finishing her yogurt and placing the dirty bowl into the sink.

"What are we even doing today?" Kyara asks.

"It's part of the surprise" I say with a smile.

I'm about to combust, I can't take this too much further. 

"Let's just go over now" I say grabbing the keys my phone and wallet.

"Ugh I hate surprises they make me nervous" Kyara says grabbing her own keys, phone and wallet.

We waltz over to Dan and Phil's and knock on the door. Phil opens the door showered and in fresh clothes.

"Morning" Phil says with a dopey smile, not quite awake yet.

"I assume Dan has told you why we are here?" I say as we are ushered in.

"Yeah he's up in the lounge room I'm just going to brush my teeth" Phil says turning into the bathroom. We head upstairs into the lounge room to see Dan watching The Great British Bake Off.

"Hey" Dan says waving us to come take a seat.

"Now can you tell me what this 'surprise' is" Kyara says seeming bothered that she was the only one not in on it.

"It will come in time, just know that you have a really good friend" Dan says.

Kyara raises an eyebrow at me and I can practically see the metal wheels in her head trying to work out what this surprise is.

"I'm flattered by such a complement" I say fanning my hand in front of my face exasperatingly.

"Can I have a glass of Ribena please?" I ask Dan.

"Yeah it's just in the door of the fridge and the glasses are kept in the cupboard beside the toaster" Dan answers.

"Kyara could you please get me a glass of Ribena?" I ask sweetly. Kyara grunts

"Why can't you, from what I've seen you still have legs and they work" Kyara says.

"Pleeeaaase, the surprise needs some discussing and you love me" I say fluttering my eyes at Kyara.

"Fine, but only because I love you" Kyara says in a huff leaving the room. I turn quickly to Dan when Kyara is out of hearing distance.

"Is everything still on track?" I ask.

"Yeah he should be here any minute" He says with a sweet smile.

"I'm so excited, I find it so hard to keep exciting surprises from her" I say clapping furiously.

"I kept it pretty vague when I told Joe as well" he says.

We hear a loud crash coming from the kitchen and a very loud

"SHIT" from the lovely Kyara.

We both run down the stairs to find a confused Joe Sugg, a panicky Kyara and Ribena spilt everywhere.

"Surprise?" I say questioningly.

"Next time you invite someone like Joe Sugg over to surprise me, make sure I am not holding any drinks or anything in general. Because I don't particularly like getting soaked the first time I met anyone" Kyara says.

"That's what she said" I say.

Everyone looks at me for the unexpected joke.  Dan and Joe trying to stifle their laughter. Kyara giving me a 'look' but still chuckling.

"I'm so sorry about your carpet" Kyara says rushing back into the kitchen to get some cleaner and tea towel.

Kyara bends down and starts spraying and wiping the floor like a mad man.

"Let me help you" Joe says bending down to give her a hand.

"Thanks" Kyara breaths.

I don't think I've seen her this nervous and surprised by someone's presence.

"It's fine you guys I was an accident" Dan says.

The Ribena was only now a darkened patch in the grey carpet and was barely visible if you didn't look.

"Sorry, I didn't get your names" Joe says politely.

"My names Kyara" Kyara says.

"I'm Ella, nice to meet you" I say.

"So did you have any ideas for filming" Dan asks Joe thankfully taking the attention off me. We all start to move back up to the lounge.

"Yeah I thought we could do an accent challenge" Joe says as we climb up the stairs.

"I'm horrible at accents so this will be embarrassingly funny" Dan says sitting on the couch.

"I was thinking for my channel you could teach me how to be cool/ lad or something like that, I have a heap of questions for you" Dan says.

"Sounds good" Joe says sitting on a chair. Phil comes in

"Sorry I just had a businessy call to make I'm ready to film whenever you guys are" Phil says.

"Looks like we're going to get the real YouTube experience"   I say as we all get up to go to Phil's room.
