The train wasn't that crowded as it was a Sunday and it only had a little amount of people scattered along the seats. Bright smiles were plastered on mine and Kyara's faces as we walked to our seats. I take the window seat and look out the window as we speed through the dark tunnels, large tv faces show advertisements and line the brick walls as we rush past them.
We get off at our station which was a lot busier because we were in the thick of the city.
"Do you wanna look for Wi-Fi and sim cards first?" Kyara asks
"Well they are the most important things aren't they?" I say sarcastically.
"It's not even a question" Kyara smiles.
"I might get another coat as well because this weather does not compare to the Australian winter" I say.
"You can say that again" Kyara laughs.
We go to the first Vodafone store we see to organise the sim cards and Wi-Fi.
"The technician will be around your house 8:30am to set up your Wi-Fi and these are your payment plans for your phones" the lady behind the counter smiles.
"Okay thanks have a nice day" Kyara says.
"You too" she says.
"Thanks" we both say in unison exiting the shop.
"Jeez, 8:30 why do they want to be there so early? I don't think anyone wants to be up at that time, especially me" Kyara says.
"Agreed" I say.
\Next we head to a little corner store that sold cute home wear.
"We should go in there to get our bed sheets" I say.
"Yeah they always have good things in those kind of stores" Kyara replies as we walk towards the entrance.
We head into the shop and as we step in warmth floods around us as we look around at the dishes and plates that are stacked on the shelves. A commercial bed is set up in the middle filled with cushions.
I head to the shelf next to it that's stacked with quilt covers and I see one cover with elaborate turquoise patterns like something you would see on Tumblr and I grab it immediately.
"Found mine. Do you like it?" I say.
"Yeah I love it" Kyara says, still scouring the shelf for what she wants.
"I'm going to grab some white sheets and pillow covers to put with it" I say.
Kyara comes up behind me a few seconds later with a silky white bed spread which looks like the softest thing you could ever touch.
"We better get some plates and cutlery while we are here" Kyara says.
We quickly go pick and buy some cool plates and other things and before we know it we're back out in the unforgiving cold.
"Let's just get the blow up beds and dinner, then go home" Kyara says.
"Yeah I don't think my arms could carry anymore" I say holding up my arms with at least three bags on each.
"We defiantly have to come back tomorrow we haven't even started on furniture" Kyara says.
"Yay for carrying even more bags tomorrow" I say sarcastically.
"Look there's a Target surely they have blow up beds in there" Kyara says pointing up to the glowing red Target logo after walking a few blocks.
"Yeah they have practically everything in there" I say.
I step inside and I swear to god it's the biggest target I've ever been in. You couldn't even see the back of it not to mention it was double story. And look my best friend, the escalators. Now it's not that I refuse to get on escalators it's just the hop of death getting on and off the things that I have to be able to hold the side railing at all times for.
Kyara sees a cute guy in a target uniform is stacking the shelves nearby and before I get the chance to stop her she quickly walks up to the guy and nicely asks.
"Would you know where the blow up beds are?" He turns and smiles at her.
"Yes, would you like me to direct you to them" he says (the British accent just added to the hotness).
"Why yes that would be lovely" Kyara says waving me to come with her.
He weaves us through countless isles and when we finally arrive he says "anything else you need?" a polite smile still on his face.
"Yes, could you recommend us the best blow up mattress as we've just moved here from Australia and we don't know how long these are going to be our temporary beds for" Kyara says.
Another thing about me is that I am the most awkward human being on the planet and that is only enhanced when a cute boy is around. Not to mention one of Kyara's many favourite things to do is to talk to cute boys so this doesn't put me in the best position.
"Well this mattress is the best as it is the most comfortable and the most stable, like a normal bed and it is a reasonable price" he says handing it to her.
I swear he was going to wink when he said as stable a normal bed. I grab a blow up mattress for myself and say
"Thanks for your help but we have to get going" I smile walking off dragging Kyara with me.
"What did you do that for?" she says turning back to look at the guy.
"Sorry, I don't love being around you when guys practically undress you with their eyes" I say
"Sorry I have game" Kyara said.
"I need ice for that burn" I say sarcastically faking a burn on my arm.
We buy our temporary beds and head back outside
"What's for dinner?" I ask.
"Sushi?" Kyara asks that being her favourite food.
"Hell yea" I say
"Senpai" I say in a ridiculous accent trying to re-enact Dan and Phil.
Kyara and I laugh and start to look for the nearest store with sushi in it. We round a corner and see a store with a Japanese slogan on it with the front made up of glass and black beams.
"That looks cool" I say as we walk in.
"Yeah it looks sick" Kyara says.
We order our sushi (I got teriyaki chicken, king prawn and avocado and Kyara got 3 honey soy chicken with avocado).
We sat down in a booth with a wooden table and a brass light.
"This place is awesome" Kyara says in awe complementing it again.
"Yeah we should defiantly come back here" I agree. After we finish eating it's about 7:00pm and we head back to the train station.
Once we get back to our apartment, we blow up ours beds in the lounge room spend our first night in London having our usual nightly talk until we eventually fall asleep.
