Chapter 20

We go into the lounge room, me feeling the embarrassment of screaming and curling up in a ball on the stairs and Kyara feeling flustered from what I call a prank.

I'm not good at pranking okay.

"I have a meeting in about an hour so I should get going soon" Joe says wincing while looking at his phone.

"Shit me too" Dan says.

"I better go and have a shower or something I guess, I'll see you guys later" Dan says.

"I guess I'll go now as well, you'll be okay?" Joe asks Kyara.

"Yeah I'll be fine. I have Ella anyway if anything happens" Kyara smiles.

"Thanks for the help I don't even want to contemplate what would've happened if you weren't there" Kyara continues sincerely. Joe looks down to hide him blushing.

"No worries" He says.

We say goodbye to Dan and Joe after Joe collects all of his stuff. Kyara and I go back to the lounge room and lay on the ground.

"Jesus Christ that was an eventful 24 hours" I say.

"You can say that again" Kyara says letting out a huge breath.

"Well it's been an eventful week" Kyara continues.

"Amen to that" I say.

"We have two days until Amanda comes" I say smiling.

"I'm so excited" Kyara squeals.

"Do you want to spend the next two days flat out setting up and actually moving in so when Amanda comes we have something that resembles a house" I say rolling over to face Kyara.

"Yeah good idea" Kyara says a smile on her face.

We start to unpack all the things we bought in from Next and got the furniture that we had delivered. We unpack our table, chairs and couch and assemble them. We lay out some candles and more bits and bobs. By the time we're done it's around lunch time so we decide to make some sandwiches.

"You know what, I'm going to go for a salami, ham and cheese sandwich" I say my mouth watering a little.

"That is the one of the most unhealthy but delicious sandwiches" Kyara says looking in the fridge trying to find something the least bit healthier.

"Come to the dark side my friend it is delicious" I say to her waving cheese and salami in front of her face.

"Alright then, with all the lifting and building we did we probably lost a few kilos any way might as well gain them back on" Kyara say grabbing the cheese and salami out from her face.

"How much do you remember of that night" I say to Kyara referring to last night.

"Well I remember grabbing a drink and talking to you and that guy which I can't remember the name of then I went back to Joe and my joints kinda started to feel wobbly and weak and then I think I passed out. What happened with you and that guy anyway?" Kyara asks.

"Well things went awkwardly to say the least" I say looking to the ground starting to blush.

"Ooooo sounds like something I want to hear" Kyara says turning her head around.

"Well after our drink we went for a dance and I think you had already gone because I looked around and I couldn't see you and then he started to grab my waist and pull me really close and then I was just thinking BOOOOYYYY IF YOU DON'T STOP. Then he kissed me and it was really awkward and I pulled away and we parted ways and it was just the most awkward thing you could ever imagine" I say cringing.
