Chapter 13

                  

"That will be £28" The lady says from behind the counter.

We all pay our fairs for the London eye and hop in one of the carriage pod things.

I'm not so great with heights and by that I mean I'm petrified by them, so I was a bit nervous to go on a thing that goes high enough that you can nearly see the whole of London. Kyara on the other hand was jumping up and down with excitement while I sit on one of the seats.

We had enough people to have the carriage to ourselves which was great. The wall of the carriages were made of nearly completely glass to have a better view. Most of the group stands near the wall there faces practically pressed up against the glass.

We're about half way to the top when I start to get sick. Yeah I shouldn't have gone on this thing. I start to repeat in my head not to look down and it doesn't really help because I look down anyway. Why do I do this to myself I don't know.

I focus in the people more than the views hoping that will make me feel a little better. I see there all laughing at some joke I didn't hear and it looks like one of those slomo shot photo's in movies were they show everyone laughing  and happy.

Kyara and Joe are cuddle up pretty nicely as well. I smile to myself I'll have to brag to her later about how I got her in with Joe Sugg. Dan sits next to me and I jump out of my day dream state.

"You scared me" I say to him and smile.

"I was just coming over to see if you were okay, you seem a bit quiet" Dan says concern etched on his face.

"I'm fine, heights and I aren't the best of friends though" I say nervously.

"I wouldn't think you would be afraid of heights" Dan says.

"Well petrified is more the word I'd use" I say with a nervous laugh.

"I'll just have to catch you if you fall" Dan says with a cheesy smile.

"That is one of the cheesiest lines someone has ever said to me" I say with a laugh.

"It's working isn't it? Taking your mind off where we are" Dan says.

"Well aren't you just the smartest little cookie in the jar" I say teasing him.

"Do you want me to get Kyara?" Dan asks.

"No I think I'll be alright, she's having fun anyway wouldn't want to destroy that would we?" I say. Everyone is starting to take pictures of the view as were nearly at the top.

"Don't hold back, I'm a big girl I think I can handle it" I say to Dan.

"Nah I think I'm good for now" he says. I take my phone up and start to take photos of the view that we could see and some of the group there faces lit up with laughter.

"Hey everyone let's take a group photo" Joe says holding up his phone. I stand up and my legs immediately shake and I look like a newborn deer trying to walk for the first time.

"Woah are you okay?" Dan asks and gets up to steady me.

"Yeah just a bit shaky" I say weakly.

"Everyone all good?" Joe asks and raises his phone to get everyone in shot. I turn to the camera to smile and realise I'm shaking. I'll probably look really good in this photo. Not. Dan slides his arm around my waist and pulls me close. I'm caught off guard and I look up at Dan.

"To help with the shaking" Dan says. I raise an eyebrow

"Mhm" I hum. We turn to the camera and take some photos. And I must admit we all looked good. Squad was on fleek. Can I even call it a squad when this is the first time we all hung out together? The trip ends not to long after that and I'm glad to get back on solid soil when we get out.

"Thank the lord" I say to Dan when we start walking away from the London eye. Dan smiles and walks closer to me and I can smell his cologne and feel his warmth. If I told myself a month ago that this would happen my older self would just laugh and say get out of your head and look where I am now.

"Did you enjoy the ride?" Kyara asks me.

"It was eventful" I say.

"I'll see you guys tomorrow for filming then?" Joe asks walking up to us.

"Yeah" Kyara says smiling at him.

"Can I get your numbers to organise the details and all that stuff?" Joe says hopefully.

"Yeah sure" Kyara says jumping at the chance. We all exchange numbers and head to go get the taxi.

"Getting guys numbers already" Dan says playfully.

"Yeah watch out I'm such a player" I say. We catch a taxi back to our house as it's nearly 1:00am and we are all sleepy from the long day. We stumble up the stairs to get to our apartments. 

"Night Phil, night Dan" I say making eye contact with Dan.

"Yeah goodnight" Kyara says with a wave and then attempts to start unlocking the door.

"Good night get some good sleep" Dan says.

"Yeah I could use some" Phil agrees. We both go into our apartments. Ours mostly empty from the abandonment of furniture. 

"Looks like you got pretty cosy with Joe tonight" I say winking at Kyara.

"Speak for yourself, I saw you and Dan in the London eye" Kyara says.  I roll my eyes

"I can't wait for Amanda to come, though we should get the apartment more organised before she gets here" I say.

"Agreed" Kyara says.

"Look my parents sent a text that they're awake, lets skype them" Kyara says.

"Yeah it will be good to see someone that we haven't just met for a change" I say jokingly.

We call Kyara's parents and tell them about all the craziness that has been our lives so far and they tell us about what has been happening in theirs.

"I miss you two so much" Simone, Kyara's mother, says.

"Yeah come back already" Marc, Kyara's dad, jokes.

"Yeah I miss you guys too" Kyara says sadly.

"Yeah I miss you guys" I repeat Kyara.

"You two get some sleep now it must be very late" Simone says.

"Okay we will" Kyara gives a sad smile.

"Love you guys" Kyara says.

"Ik hou van jou" They both say in union.

"Doei" I say.

We all say our goodbye's and Kyara hangs up. We both say good night to each other and trudge to bed tired and excited for tomorrow.
