CHAPTER 40

Yvonne's pov

The days went by fast and today is the launch of our new application. And I am proud to say that I am a big part of this project.

I already plan what I'm gonna do after this. I'm gonna go back to the Philippines and take some time off there with my family. Then we will migrate here to the US for the better.

"I'm going back to the Philippines. Do you wanna tag along?" We're currently having dinner at Reve's house with his parents.

He looked up at me. "I don't know I still have to finish something here before I can take a break" He calmly said. I just nod my head.

"What about you mom, dad?" I turned my attention to his parents. "Hm hm, we can't ija we have a lot of things to do since malapit na mag retire itong si Raven" Mom pointed at Dad who just smiled at me.

"Guess I'll be going alone"

"But I'll try to come after I finish my work here" My face brightened when Reve said that. He laughed at my reaction.

"I said I'll try huh don't get your hopes up" I ignored his words and continued to eat.

I know he will do it anyway. He is a man of his word kaya naniniwala ako na hahabol sya sakin sa Pilipinas.

After our dinner, we decided to stay here for the night. We don't have work tomorrow so it's fine to stay up late.

"Let's watch a movie. Come darling" Dad pulled me and Mom to the living room leaving Reve at the dining table.

"Now you're neglecting me. Who's your child anyway" Now it's starting again.

"When did you act like my child anyway?" Dad raised his brows at Reve who once again did his dramatic expression.

He held his chest like he was so offended at what his dad said. "What you are one of the people who were there when I came out of mom va-" I was shocked when Mom suddenly threw her slippers at Reve before he could finish his sentence.

I am holding my laughter because of their conversation. I don't know but I'm still not used to this scene. These two never give each other a break.

"Shut up Reve Maison Ellington. Come here" Mom walked towards Reve and pulled his ears. They walked into the living room and sat down.

Me and dad followed them there. Dad is still grinning widely while looking at his son who's being lectured by his mom.

"Part of it was your fault, Dad. You should also be ready" I nudge Dad who just shrugs his shoulder.

"And you. You old childish hag" Mom then walked towards me while pointing her fingers at Dad who hid behind me.

I stepped away from them and sat beside Reve who was laughing while looking at his father. Dad looked like he was a puppy being lectured by his owner.

"When will you two grow up? Stop giving me headaches, will you?" Mom massages her temple. "But that's the reason you love me," Dad said while pouting his lips.

They looked like a teenage couple that was arguing about something nonsense. I turned my gaze at Reve who was looking lovingly at his parents.

One thing I learned about Reve is that he loves his parents so much that their happiness becomes his happiness too. I admire him for that. Some guys are ashamed when the talk is about being a family-oriented guy but when it comes to Reve he is willing to shout that he is a mama's boy. He's never ashamed to show everyone how much he loves his parents.

We started to watch a movie after their lecturing session. Hindi na namin napansin ang oras at sa sala na kami nakatulog.

Masakit ang katawan ng magising ako. Inilibot ko ang tingin ko at nakita si Reve na nakahiga malapit sa TV katabi ang daddy nya habang si mom naman ay nakahiga sa mahabang sofa.
