CHAPTER 10

Yvonne's pov

The school started and surprise surprise it was not that easy but not that hard either maybe because I'm still in my first year as a senior high student.

Nothing much happened to me over the months that I've spent. Me and Zeus are still together and going strong and on weekends, Zeus, Ricky, Dria, and Drei hang out together.

Today I'm inside the classroom and listening to my teacher, malapit na mag uwian kaya yung mga kaklase ko nag reready na lumabas.

The bell rang and everyone got up from their seats and stepped out of the classroom. Im fixing my things when my advisor called me.

"Ms. Bañez, follow me to the faculty," Mr. Castillo said to me, I nodded my head and followed him to the faculty.

When we got there Mr. Castillo sat on his chair while crossing his arms.

"I want to talk to you about your performance in the classroom" I became nervous because of what he said.

"What am I failing?"
"is it that bad?"
"What happened?"
"Did I fail one of my major subs?"

I started to overthink and my hands began shaking, I have always been conscious about my grades since I started attending school.

"What about it sir?" I asked, my eyes were already watering as I waited for him to answer my question. please don't tell me something I don't want to hear.

I prayed silently

"Well you have been very outstanding and consistent in the classroom and one of your teachers recommended you to an Ivy League school in the U.S." My nervousness quickly changed into excitement as I heard the news from him.

"wha- what is it true sir?" I am so speechless right now i never thought that a big opportunity like this would someday
come to me.

Mr. Castillo nodded and smiled as he looked at my face.

"You don't have to rush your decision since I only break this news for you to have more time to think. You still have to finish senior high here in the philippine and then when you decide to study there the school will sponsor your living" When I heard that suddenly Zeus's face appeared in my head.

Zeus, I don't know how to tell him about this.

I don't want to leave him.

"Thank you, sir, I'll get going na po" I bid my goodbye and walked out of the room.

My mind is being clouded by the thoughts of Zeus being sad about me leaving. I don't want to think about it now since I still have a year to weigh my priorities.

While walking in the school hallway my phone rang, I reached out for it and saw Zeus's name appear on the screen. I answer it.

"Nasan ang beybeh koh?" I rolled my eyes even though he won't be able to see it.

"Palabas na ng school,baki?" I answered him as I reached the main gate of the school.

I looked around to see if there was any tricycle I could ride on but instead, I saw someone looking devilishly handsome while leaning on his car.

His uniform suits him very well, he's also wearing sunglasses while his phone is in his ears. I walked towards him and took off his sunglasses.

"Seriously, madilim na nakasuot ka pa din ng sunglasses" I folded his glasses and put them in his pocket.

He put his arms around my waist "Hello too babe" he kissed me on the cheeks. I look at him suspiciously he doesn't normally act like this.

"what do you need? your weird" I frowned at him, and he just scratched his head.

"May research kasi kami about student achievers and I want to interview you" Inirapan ko ito habang hinigpitan naman nito ang pagkakayakap sakin.

Ngumuso ito at nag paawa "Please" I nodded It was not like I didn't want to do the interview, I just really wanted him to act cute.

We eat at a fast-food restaurant before we start the interview. Nagpaalam na din ko kila mama na mamaya pa ko makakauwi at kasama ko naman si Zeus.

We decided to interview at his house since malapit naman kami sa bahay nila and for privacy na din.

His parents aren't home today, meron ata silang business sa Palawan.

He asked me a few questions about my experience as a consistent honor student and a lot of different questions mainly related to being an achiever in the academic field.

We watch movies after the interview. May mga damit naman ako dito kay nakapagpalit ako tsaka sabado naman bukas and wala kaming pasok.

I looked at Zeus who was focused on watching the movie.

"hey" he looked at me when I called him, and he hummed in response.

"What would you choose, your dream or me?" his forehead knotted because of my question.

"Ang weird ng tanong mo," he laughed it off but when he saw that I was serious about my question he sighed and answered.

"Both, I have you while reaching my dream" I looked at him tenderly. I don't know how to say the news to him about me being offered a scholarship in an Ivy League school in the U.S.

"bakit mo na tanong?"

I just shook my head and leaned towards to hug him. I made him feel that I didn't want to let go or be away from him. He hugs me back with the same tightness and feeling.

"May problema ba?" his voice sounds so worried.

"Nothing, gusto lang kita yakapin" mas siniksik ko yung sarili ko sakanya.

The whole night we watched a movie while cuddling each other until we fell asleep.

This is not the first time I spent the night at his house. Usually, his parents and Liam are here but they're in Palawan so it's just the two of us tonight.

We fell asleep in each other's arms that night. This is probably the best sleep I've had in years, the feeling that the person I love is here beside me on a long cold night gives so much warmth in my heart.

Sana sa malalamig na gabi sa amerika ay nandun sya para bigyan ng init ang nanlalamig kong katawan.
