"So Katie's coming over for the party on new years, right?" Ellie asked as her and Tatum finished prepping the vegetables to go with the dinner.

"Mmmhmm. Flying out tomorrow morning. We agreed Christmas with families, and then since Leah and her family are coming here, Katie got FoMo and decided new years needs to be here." Tatum spoke fondly of the plans they'd agreed on.

It had been a long conversation between the two trying to figure out what to do. They had the issue that they didn't want to really miss out on time off together, but also decided that they couldn't be the cliche lesbians and spend Christmas together already. They'd agreed to wait and exchange presents on new years day, and have their own mini Christmas. So instead, Tatum had to make do with a 6AM FaceTime from her girlfriend who determined that since she was awake, then Tatum has to be awake too. Followed by another FaceTime when both girls had had plenty to drink and sang Christmas songs top of their voices to each other.

"You excited?" Ellie asked.

"Yeah, of course." Tatum casually responded.

"You don't have to hide it you know, dickhead." Ellie said with a playful nudge.

Tatum grinned and nodded. "Yeah, I'm excited."

"When's Leah coming?"

"Why? Need to prep Matty not to crush too hard on her, like last time?" Tatum teased, recalling the time Matt had said the words 'see you later' to Leah and had then been hounded by Ellie on why he is in fact not going to see her later.

"Yes, exactly that." Ellie stated, no shame. She know's she's a psycho, and she owns it.

"Don't care about the fact that she's a big fat raging lesbian?"

"Leah, just smile for the love of god!" Tatum shouted as she watched Leah frown as the pair hung up some decorations in the house.

The Williamson family had gotten to Tatum's mums house bright and early, much to the displeasure of of Tatum who had been rudely awoken by Leah phoning her to tell her to come let them in. Once Molly had woken up and seen Amanda, the group quickly got dispersed and Leah and Tatum got left with decorating in preparation with the party. The parents got to sit down, talking about all their plans, and the kids got put to work.

"I can't smile when you're hanging it WONKY!" Leah complained. "Move that side up again."

Tatum rolled her eyes but followed Leah's instructions.

"Tiny bit higher...No, too high."

"LEAH!"

"You're worse at doing this than you were blowing up balloons, honestly how are you an athlete when your lung capacity is like someone who's smoked 30 a day for the past 20 years."

"I'm a unique creation." Tatum shrugged. "Right, it's staying like that, it gives it character." She declared as she stepped down the ladder. She turned around to face her best friend but widened her eyes at how close the blonde was. "Hiya?" Leah didn't respond, but stepped forward with a grin and pulled Tatum in for a tight hug.

"I missed you, you know." Leah mumbled as Tatum smiled and wrapped her own arms now her. "Love you."

"Love you too." Tatum whispered in response as the two separated.

The pair walked towards the pile of decorations they had been instructed to hang and each grabbed a few items before walking around the room and hanging them in various locations. "What did your mum get you for Christmas?" Tatum asked.
