Tatum stood there bouncing on her toes in the tunnel of Camp Nou, ready for the second leg of the Champions League. The raw of the nearly sold out stadium echoed in the tunnel, causing goosebumps to scatter over Tatum's limbs. The Arsenal girls had already met the Barca team in the tunnel, not leaving them waiting like the first leg, and all stood there facing forward. Similar to last time, Katie and the English girls had come up and fist bumped her, this time much more brief.

"¡Mascotas!" Yelled through the tunnel, quickly getting Tatum's attention as she turned her head and watched the young mascots walk up the tunnel, each standing by the player they were assigned to.

"¡Hola!" Tatum said as her mascot stopped at her side. The young girl turned her head briefly and Tatum caught site of the hearing aid in her ear. Kneeling down so she was leaning on one knee so she was closer to the girls eye level before pointing to her own ears. "¿Sin audiencia?" (No hearing?) She asked, nodding in understanding as the young girl shook her head. Tatum ran her tongue along the inside of her teeth, not sure what was the best way to communicate with the girl having never learned sign. Instead she pointed at her eyes and then her lips, smiling when the young girl nodded. "¿Cómo te llamas?"

"Maya." The young girl spoke and signed at the same time.

"¿Cuántos años tienes, Maya?" (How old are you, Maya?)

Maya smiled and held up six fingers.

"¡Guau!" (Wow!) Tatum gasped. "¿Estás emocionado? ¿Quién es tu jugador favorito?" (Are you excited? Who's your favorite player?)

Maya nodded quickly, smile on her face before she pointed at Tatum and Alexia who was standing in front, talking to her own mascot quickly.

"¿Ale y yo? ¡Tenemos mucha suerte!" (Me and Ale? We're so lucky!) Tatum looked down the tunnel as she watched the referee's walk up, signalling the entry to the field approaching. "Maya, habrá mucha gente ahí fuera, ¿vale? Pero estaré ahí contigo todo el tiempo, lo prometo." (Maya, there's going to be a lot of people out there, okay? But I'll be there with you the whole time, promise.) She spoke before taking hold of Maya's hand softly and giving it a gentle squeeze and standing back up to her full height, her eyes meeting Katie's who had turned and watched the exchange. She winked at her girlfriend once before facing the front as they began walking out, making sure to continue to check on Maya as they walked onto the pitch.

Tatum had played for Barcelona in Camp Nou a couple of times now, and it never ever fails to effect her like nowhere else. The loudness of the crowd, the blur of colors in every direction you looked, it just hit different than anywhere else she'd played. As they stood in the line, she tapped Maya on the shoulder and waited for the kid to turn and face her before she pointed at her and gave a thumbs up, smiling when Maya nodded in confirmation.

As the Champions League anthem played out, Tatum rested her hands on both of Maya's shoulders, frowning when she could feel the girls cold skin through her shirt. Quickly pulling her hands away, she unzipped her warm up jacket and wrapped it around Maya's shoulders instead before placing her hands again on the girls shoulders. As the anthem finished and the stadium clapped as the Arsenal girls began moving down the line to shake hands with Tatum's teammates. Tatum put her hands in front of Maya and clapped softly, smiling when the young child copied her movements.

The first Arsenal player to reach Tatum was Leah, who was captaining the side tonight due to Kim Little's absence. As her best friend reached her, they quickly fist bumped and Tatum shifted her eyes to the top of Maya's head, trying to gesture to Leah to greet Maya. Leah, always being in tune to the younger girl, listened to Tatum's silent command, sticking her fist out to Maya and nodding when the young girl fist bumped her back. Maya went to lower her fist as Leah passed, but Tatum quickly grabbed it gently, keeping the young girls fist up as more Arsenal girls walked past, bumping them both quickly. As Katie approached Tatum, she gave her a small wink and bumped Maya before rubbing the top of her head slightly.
