XVIII: No Going Back

Third POV

"Izuku..? Izuku..?" Uraraka's voice trailed off in the omega's office.

She, along with Todoroki, Iida and Asui stared at the green-haired omega who'd been unresponsive since he came into work, two days ago.

Presently, he laid ontop of one of the conference room tables, staring up at the ceiling in silence.

For whatever reason, he refused to go home.

"Earth to Midoriya, come in!" Iida ordered, finding Izuku's current state incredibly strange.

Just when they were ready throw in the towel and give Izuku some space, the omega croaked out,

"...He saw me." Izuku whispered out, feeling utterly nauseous, "K-Katsuki actually saw me like that."

Uraraka furrowed her brows, walking back to Izuku and gently caressing his hair, "Let it out, talk to Uraraka."

Izuku's voice started off small, but got progressively louder as he spoke, utter mortification being the perfect word to describe how he felt,

"I made the dumb mistake of inviting Shinsou for dinner, I blackout, and instead of kicking him out right away, we made chitchat right outside my door and Katsuki saw him and I!"

Soft gasps echoed in the room.

In Izuku's head, the memory repeated in slow-mo repeatedly, more specifically Haru waving hi to his sire.

Uraraka looked to Asui, Asui looked to Iida, Iida looked to Todoroki and Todoroki stared right back at Izuku who felt numb.

"W-well," Todoroki cleared his throat, "It's not that big of a deal,"

"This is what you wanted, right? To move on? That's what the closure was for."

Izuku turned his head to face the other alpha, his silence unclear for the others who were unsure to support Todoroki or jump him when they all left the room for suggesting such a thing.

Izuku's mind swirled, taking one long slow blink.

Todoroki was right.

That was what the closure was for.

But here he was, scrambling around one day to hide from his technically ex-husband and now finding himself in dumps for being caught.

"Well, yeah, but..." Izuku trailed off, not sure how to exactly put it, "Shinsou isn't..."

"Isn't?" Asui repeated, as they listened to Izuku's words just trail off into the air.

"He isn't the one for me." Izuku shook his head, sighing in defeat, "I can't see myself liking anyone else."

"Rebound." Uraraka sighed, as she touched Izuku's cheek, "Has to be,"

"Starting you off so soon was a bad idea."

Izuku placed a hand over his eyes, letting out a sigh.
