XIX: Never Ending

Third POV

Two more days had passed since then.

After a phone call through Kirishima to Uraraka, Katsuki and Izuku agreed to meet at the omega's company to have a real talk.

Between the both of their groups, enough was enough.

However, unforeseen circumstances were to interrupt.

~Flashback; one day ago~

Izuku had decided to toss himself into his work, hoping that if he preoccupied himself with it, he'd be less anxious when the time actually came.

"Alright, shipping's complete, let me see if Uraraka's done with her lines." Izuku mumbled to himself, exiting his office to check up on the brunette who appeared to be away from her office phone.

Despite the cold, harshness of the ground, Izuku's footsteps were light and incredibly airy.

Passing down one corridor into the next, Izuku found himself feeling a tad bit better to exit his office and go on a mere stroll.

"Ashido, what you are saying cannot be possible about Bakugo."

Izuku stopped dead in his tracks.

It appeared he needed to go no further to where Uraraka's office.

Inside the first conference room, past the blurred glass, just on the opposite side was Uraraka herself.

Clearly engaged in a conversation with one of her other longtime best friends.

He knew it'd be wrong to eavesdrop, but at the mere mention of his ex's name he just had to.

"I mean, yes things have been shaky, more so than when they first divorced, but don't you think this is a bit too soon?" Uraraka's voice rang in utter concern, "And yes, he might've stumbled upon Midoriya and Shinsou, but surely they can just talk it out."

"It's never too late."

Izuku could barely keep his mouth closed, listening to Uraraka.

That light feeling he felt, felt like a twelve ton weight had slammed back down on him.

He was facing reality.

And that reality made him feel incredibly nauseous.

He placed his hands over his stomach, taking one long slow blink listening to Uraraka agree to whatever it was that Ashido was saying.

"No I don't fully know if he likes Shinsou or not, but he does clearly have doubts as to whether this is too soon." Uraraka chimed in.

"But I can't say that he doesn't think about Bakugo, at all."

A pitiful smile appeared on Izuku's face.

At the very least, she knew him.

Katsuki would always be on Izuku's mind.
