As soon as the night passed, Sarah woke up disturbed to have given Adrien the slip. Jackson was watching her from a distance, his weapon in hand. He had his target. Sarah, in the distance, had spotted Anna. Instinctively, she thought of Alexandre. She took the bow and shot Anna, who didn't have time to react. As soon as the arrow went through her, Anna fell dead.

Jackson, from afar, found the way Sarah had just killed Anna inhumane. He decided to avenge the latter and kill Sarah. Silently, he approached Sarah, who noticed nothing, lost in her thoughts. Jackson quickly put his hand on her shoulder, turned her against a tree; Sarah, taken by surprise, had the sole reflex to beg for the only person she was close to in the arena. She screamed:
"ADRIEN!!!"
With a swift motion, Jackson stabbed her in the stomach, and Sarah collapsed, but was not yet dead.
Jackson fled right after his murder.
When Adrien arrived, he found Sarah; his best friend; lying on the ground, a knife in her chest. When he reached her, he saw that she had tears in her eyes. He knelt beside her and whispered:
"Sarah..."
She then said with difficulty:
"It's not fair. I can't have killed them for nothing."
"I will win for you, Sarah. I promise."
Sarah closed her eyes. When Adrien felt her pulse, he felt nothing. His friend was dead.
He then left, filled with remorse for not having been able to save her.

Amber, who had observed the scene, felt sorry: of course, Sarah's main goal was not to kill her, but to return to District 12, they all wanted it, and now, she was once again the victorious female tribute of the games but, it was still out of fear, that she decided to retrieve the bow, just in case she would need it, she might have won, but last year she had almost been killed by not staying on guard after her victory, she did not want to make the same mistake again.

When she retrieved the bow, Adrien, who had seen her advance, decided to move towards her, Amber noticed him and, knowing that he was one of those who wanted to kill her from the beginning, she got scared and shot an arrow at him. Adrien was dead.

Amber and Jackson were then taken out of the arena and brought back to District 12. Alicia slipped a paper into Amber's hand before she was taken away: can we meet in District 12 or elsewhere? Amber guessed who the note was from, she said nothing, still in shock from her 3 days in the arena, she contented herself with a simple nod meaning yes.
