Amelia hadn't figured out who had helped her with Snape yet, but she was determined to. She, in the last week, had spent plenty of her free time with Cedric, having gotten better with making the knot of her tie. She didn't want to find herself into another situation like the one with Snape.
"Today, there is our first lesson with Hagrid," Harry was telling her during breakfast. Amelia hummed as she was choosing what to eat. "Let's hope that everything goes right."
"I haven't met him yet, but he seems a good guy," Amelia replied, smiling softly at the young boy.
"He is," confirmed Granger, attracting Amelia's attention. "But he tends to have the weirdest animals you could ever imagine."
Perhaps then, it wasn't a great choice selecting Cure of Magical Creatures. She wasn't exactly fond of animals apart from dogs. She was also scared of cats, and she had to bear with Granger's stupid orange one. Crookshanks was already a challenge for her, and he was considerably smaller than her.
She became pale like a sheet, hoping to be done with thar class already. Harry noticed it and intertwined their hands to comfort her as much as he could. "Hey," he said calmly, "nothing bad will happen, okay? Hagrid is a great teacher, and I'll always be by your side to make sure you're safe."
On Amelia's face cracked a half-smile, giving a gentle squeeze to the boy's hand in response.
The way Harry and Amelia acted towards each other made Granger roll her eyes, letting out a loud sigh.
"Is there a problem?" Amelia asked her, annoyed.
Granger stared into her hazel eyes with fire going out of her ears. "No, absolutely," she answered blankly.
"Wonderful."
"Yes, wonderful," Granger repeated coldly, lowering her gaze on her copy of the Daily Prophet.
Amelia had given up trying to understand that girl. She probably was destined to remain a mystery to Amelia.
Ginny rapidly glanced at Amelia's and Harry's hands with a smirk. "When were you gonna tell us that you are a couple?" She asked, making them assume every shape of red.
"We're not together, Ginny," they both replied in unison, breaking the contact of their hands immediately after.
"Hmm... sure," the redhead said, not convinced at all.
"I'm serious, Weasley," Amelia remarked, "Harry and I are just friends."
"Well, that's a shame," Ava added, spreading strawberry jam on a piece of toasted bred. "You two would be good together."
Granger kept her gaze on the journal, but her eyes weren't moving, so she wasn't really reading it.
"There must be something very interesting on that point of the journal if you're staring at it so attentively," Amelia teased the bushy girl.
The older girl tilted her head, wanting to appear intimidating. She was, but Amelia would never confess that.
"Very interesting," Granger replied sharply. "For sure much more intriguing than speculating about your hypothetical relationship with Harry."
