:・゚✧:・.☽˚。・゚✧:"You're just a Bloodtraitor! That's what you are!" Her uncle yelled as he cast on her the Cruciatus Curse for what felt the billionth time. "I have known you were a failure since you were born! You deserve nothing but to be punished for your actions!"
Amelia was curled up on the cold floor of her room. She wanted to scream, but her voice had disappeared after having been pushed to its limit for more than half an hour. She didn't have any control over her body anymore, it shook like a leaf the more her unlce used that Unforgivable Curse on her.
She should have imagined that he would not have let go of the fact she was a Gryffindor and not a Slytherin, but he never tortured her with the frequency he had done during this summer.
"Please, stop! Please! I can't take it anymore!" She cried when she reached her breaking point. Her body wasn't irremediably damaged, but her mind would soon be if her uncle didn't stop. She wanted it to stop. She wanted to pass out just to make this shattering pain end.
Before her eyes flashed memories of her previous year at Hogwarts of when she saved her father with Harry and Granger. She wanted to believe she was still hidden behind the bush by the lake with Granger's hand firm in hers. It was the only way not to go crazy.
She would have never guessed she would use Granger as her steady point, but maybe she cared about the bushy-haired girl a bit more than she wanted to let on.
Her screams filled her room, and she was aware it wouldn't be the last time they would. It would always be like this if she lived under her uncle's roof.
"Aren't you ashamed of how weak you are, Amelia?" Arthur spat, suddenly removing his wand from Amelia's direction, allowing her to take a breath as she fully laid down on her back, feeling her t-shirt soaked by her own sweat. "I neither know why I made you come back here when it's pretty clear that you are a complete mistake come to this world just because that filthy mudblood of your mother wanted another child!"
Bloodtraitor, failure, mistake, weak... Those words cut deeper than a knife in Amelia's heart, leaving a permanent scar on it.
She used all her strength to place both of her trembling hands on her floor and slowly raise her gaze on her uncle, looking into his mean brown eyes, wishing she was looking at Granger's instead.
"You embarrassed the Black's name by having been sorted into that pathetic house and having blurt out to the whole school that your mother was nothing but a mudblood!"
"She wasn't a — mudblood —" Amelia croaked, feeling her throat clenching when she pronounced that word. It had been so long since she last said it. Granger made her impossible to even think about that.
Her uncle snorted, lowering his wand, quite enjoying the sight of his niece shuddering on the floor. She deserved it. "You are lost, Amelia. I don't expect you to understand the severity of what you did."
Was it too much to ask to be enough for someone? To be loved for who she was?
"You were fortunate enough to born into this family with so many privileges, and you still decided to toss all away!" Her uncle's tone was stern with no vestige of sympathy in its hardness. His face contorted into a mask of rage, brows furrowed, lips curled into a snarl. His very presence radiated a menacing aura. "I'm telling you, Amelia: you will serve the Dark Lord when he comes back. And you honour your name by becoming a Death Eater. Have I made myself clear?"
