The Easter holidays weren't exactly relaxing. The third years had never had so much homework. Amelia felt like she was drowning in pages, having to study practically all day, and obviously, she wasn't the only one. Now, maybe she really looked like a zombie.

But it was nothing compared to what Granger had to deal with. Even without Divination, she was taking more subjects than anyone else. She was the last to leave the common room at night and the first to enter the library the next day; soon, she developed shadows like Lupin's under her eyes, and seemed constantly close to tears. Nobody dared to tell her to take a break, caring too much about their own safety.

The least Amelia could do to help the ice princess without her actually realising it was taking over for the appeal of Buckbeak. When she wasn't doing her own work, she poured herself into enormously thick volumes with names such as The Handbook of an Hippogriff Phycology, Fowl, or Foul? A study of Hippogriff Brutality.

She didn't say it, but, deep down, she was worried about Granger. They hardly spoke anymore unless it was a study matter, and even when they did, the older girl was very good at maintaining the brunette at a certain distance from her, raising a barrier that perhaps not even Voldemort would try to cross.

Amelia literally knocked herself out every day in order to keep her mind occupied not to think about what she had seen in her dreams. That was why she decided to visit her godfather.

She neither knew how to start explaining what the hell was going on in her head not to sound mad, she just went to knock on his door, hoping to receive some answers. However, did she really want to know the truth?

"Hi Amy, what a pleasure seeing you here," he said as soon as he saw his godchild entering his office.

The young Black nervously smiled, scratching behind her neck. "... I... well, I might need to talk to you about something."

The older man gave her a warm smile. "Uhm, that's a serious matter I see," he reflected out loud. "What do you say if we take a walk as you tell me whatever it's bothering you?"

"As long as it's not crowded, we can go anywhere, unlce Remus," Amelia replied, and Lupin's face lit up with happiness.

He hummed, gently taking her tiny hand in his as they began to walk.

Between them hung over until they reached the lake where Amelia and Cedric used to go. But it wasn't an uncomfortable silence that always needed to be filled with continuous words. It was more like a comforting silence, almost as if it was a hug, but more.

"This," Remus said, pointing at a tree, which Amelia hadn't recognised as Gus until now, "this was your mother's favourite place in absolute. She would spend entire days sat against this tree reading or doing her homework while looking at this breathtaking panorama."

Amelia's lips tugged into a bittersweet smile as she imagined her mother during her years at Hogwarts. She used to go to her tree, so maybe that was the reason why she felt so at ease there. It was like having a piece of her mother here with her, and that was more than she could have ever asked for.

"Your father, to distract her from her studies for the O.W.L.s, had taught her how to play ducks and drakes, and since then, they often played together when we hung out." He chuckled softly, gazing at the landscape in front of them as if to reminisce those past moments. "Most of the times, they would bicker over the winner," he then glanced at Amelia with a grin, "they were the most competitive people I've ever met!"
