**Back to the Crew**The moment the eagle had dropped the ominous message, the crew of the *Mariner's Whisper* knew they were about to face the most dangerous mission of their lives. Sophie was in Captain Ragetooth's clutches, and every one of them felt the weight of the impending rescue.
As they prepared to depart, Alexandria gathered them for one last briefing. The tension in the air was thick, but they all knew what was at stake. Theo, still reeling from the guilt of not protecting Sophie, was barely keeping it together. His thoughts were consumed by her, and the fear that he might never see her again.
- Theo's POV : I can't lose her. I have to make this right."
The plan was simple, but the risks were high. They were walking into a trap, and everyone knew it. But there was no other option. They had to save Sophie.
- Alexandria : We all know what we're up against. Ragetooth wants us to charge in recklessly, but
Sophie's POV
Sophie forced herself to stay silent, biting down on the inside of her cheek to keep from crying out as Ragetooth's words cut through her like the knife he had used on her earlier. She refused to show him her fear, refused to let him see how much pain she was in.
Instead, she focused on the faces of her friends-the crew she had come to see as her family.Sophie's Thoughts: "They're coming for me.
I know they are. I just have to hold on."
Ragetooth's grin widened as he saw her defiance.
• Captain Ragetooth: "Still got some fight left, huh? We'll see how long that lasts."He reached down and grabbed her by the hair, pulling her head up roughly so that she was forced to look at him. His breath was hot and foul against her face, but Sophie stared back at him, her eyes burning with anger.
- Captain Ragetooth : You think they'll save you? They'll die trying. And when they do, you'll be all mine."
Message
Sophie's heart pounded in her chest, fear mixing with anger. She wanted to scream at him, to tell him he was wrong, that her friends were stronger than he knew. But she knew it would only make things worse. So she held her tongue, staring defiantly into his cold, cruel eyes.
Ragetooth laughed, a deep, menacing sound that sent shivers down her spine.
- Captain Ragetooth: "You've got guts, I'll give you that. But everyone breaks eventually."
He let go of her hair, letting her head fall back to the floor with a painful thud. Sophie squeezed her eyes shut, trying to block out the pain.-Captain Ragetooth : I think it's time for another lesson."
With that, he drew his knife again and slashed it across her arm, reopening the wound he had inflicted earlier. Sophie gasped, the pain shooting through her like fire, but she bit down on her lip, refusing to cry out.Sophie's Thoughts: "I can't break. I won't give him what he wants."
As Ragetooth continued his torment, Sophie's mind drifted to Theo. She thought of his smile, the way he always tried to make her laugh, even when she didn't feel like laughing. She thought of the way he had looked at her, the concern in his eyes, and the way he had always been there for her, even when she tried to push him away.
