While Alexandria and Sophie waited, their hearts
heavy with worry, Theo, Razor, Belle, and the remaining members of the crew were trapped in their own trials. Each faced a twisted version of their worst fears—designed to break them in ways that felt all too real.

Meanwhile, aboard The Iron Tempest, Elara's crew faced their own nightmarish tests. The darkness in the mist stretched far beyond simple illusions, bringing out the deepest horrors that lingered in the hearts of all those on board.

Theo's Trial: The Helpless Protector

Theo stood in the middle of a barren field, the sky above dark with storm clouds swirling ominously. In the distance, he could see Sophie, but something was wrong. She was calling out to him, her voice barely audible over the howling wind. Panic surged in Theo's chest, and he sprinted toward her, desperate to reach her side.

But the harder he ran, the farther away she seemed to get. No matter how fast he moved, he couldn't close the distance.

Suddenly, the earth beneath him began to split, a gaping chasm opening between him and Sophie. His heart pounded as the ground crumbled, and he realized, with a gut-wrenching clarity, that no matter how hard he tried, he wouldn't be able to protect her.

- Sophie (desperately): "Theo, please! Help me!"

Her voice was filled with fear, and Theo felt his chest tighten. His worst fear had always been losing Sophie, being powerless to protect her. And now, as the chasm widened, that fear was becoming reality. He was helpless, unable to do anything but watch as Sophie was pulled away from him, her figure growing smaller and smaller until she disappeared into the darkness.

- Voice (cold and mocking): "You can't protect her. You never could."

The words struck like a dagger, cutting deep into Theo's heart. He collapsed to his knees, tears streaming down his face as he realized the truth of his fear. He wasn't strong enough. He could never protect Sophie, or their unborn children. The weight of his failure crushed him.

- Theo (whispering, broken): "I'm sorry... I'm so sorry..."

But then, through the haze of despair, he heard Sophie's voice—not the fearful one from his nightmare, but the real one, strong and steady.

- Sophie (in his memory): "We fight together, Theo. We protect each other."

The reminder sparked something inside him. He wasn't alone. Sophie wasn't someone he needed to protect on his own—they were a team. Together, they were stronger. Slowly, Theo stood, his fists clenched as determination surged through him.

- Theo (yelling, defiant): "I will fight for you! I will fight for us!"

The chasm began to close, the darkness retreating as Theo forced himself to move forward. The nightmare faded, and though the fear still lingered, he knew now that he didn't have to bear the weight of it alone.

Razor's Trial: A Life Without Purpose

Razor found himself in a small, quiet room, surrounded by books and relics, the smell of old parchment thick in the air. At first, it seemed peaceful, a world of knowledge waiting to be explored. But as he tried to move, he realized something was wrong. The room had no door, no windows. There was no way out.
