Halloween night had cast its uncanny spell over The Mariner's Whisper and The Iron Tempest. The two crews had gathered for a feast, each pirate eager for a rare moment of celebration before the coming trials. With Lucy's culinary skill and the help of Elara's cook, a wiry man named Rhys known for his creative use of spices and herbs, they prepared a meal like none other—dark, mysterious, and brimming with flavors from the depths.

As the fog thickened around them, the crew gathered on deck, staring wide-eyed at the dishes before them.

The Dark Feast Begins

Lucy stepped forward, holding a twisted black ladle, her eyes gleaming with pride as she presented each dish.

    - Lucy (grinning): "Welcome to the Halloween feast! We thought we'd make it... memorable."

Rhys added, a wicked smile on his face, "It's best eaten in the dark. Adds to the mystery, wouldn't you say?"

The crew exchanged nervous laughs, eyeing the spread before them.

The Menu

Appetizer: The Kraken's Grasp

The feast began with "The Kraken's Grasp," a dish that looked like something dredged from the depths. Blackened octopus tentacles, curled and twisted, were arranged on a dark plate, glazed in a tangy midnight sauce made with squid ink and black garlic. Rhys had garnished the dish with rare, silvery sea herbs, giving it a shimmer under the lantern light.

    - Jax (raising an eyebrow): "Is it supposed to look like it's reaching for us?"

The crew laughed nervously, each one feeling a strange pull as they took their first bites. The taste was rich and briny, with a smokiness that lingered on the tongue.

Soup: Wraith's Cauldron

Lucy and Rhys then served "Wraith's Cauldron," a thick, dark soup that looked like it had been ladled straight from the ocean's depths.

The broth was murky and mysterious, with hints of kelp, seaweed, and smoked fish. The two cooks had added bits of blue algae, giving it an ethereal glow that seemed almost unnatural. Floating atop were ghostly white "bones" made from carved parsnips, adding to the haunting effect.

    - Belle (whispering): "It tastes like the sea itself... but with something darker."

The crew murmured their agreement, the eerie flavors settling over them like a cold mist.

Main Course: Siren's Bounty

For the main course, Lucy and Rhys presented "Siren's Bounty," a dark, hearty stew made with chunks of fish, clams, and mussels in their shells, all simmered in a rich broth seasoned with black garlic and tamarind. The dark liquid glistened, each bite filled with the taste of the ocean, spiced with mysterious herbs that gave off a haunting, earthy aroma. Rhys had added a touch of ghost pepper for a subtle heat, leaving a tingling sensation on their tongues.

Side Dish: Cursed Shore Potatoes

Alongside the main course, they served "Cursed Shore Potatoes." Lucy had roasted these potatoes until the skins were charred, then sliced them open to reveal a deep purple-blue flesh, dusted with black sea salt and blue butterfly pea powder. They looked almost like stones from a cursed shore, the smoky-sweet flavor contrasting with the spiciness of the main dish.
