You follow Bakugou across the parking lot to his car—a sleek sports car that gleams under the evening streetlights. Its aggressive styling, with sharp lines cutting across its metallic surface and low, aerodynamic build, clearly spells high performance.
The deep rumble of the engine even at idle promises a thrilling ride, while the paint, a bold and unexpected color like fiery red, catches the eye unapologetically.
As you approach, you can't help but comment, impressed yet amused, "Nice ride, but for someone trying to go incognito, you sure picked a flashy car."
Bakugou grins, a rare flash of unabashed pride flickering across his features. "Yeah, well, it's not like I'm trying to hide all the time" he retorts, unlocking the car with a beep that echoes slightly in the quiet lot.
Once inside, Bakugou slips into the driver's seat with ease, the door shutting with a satisfying thud. He starts the car, and the engine roars to life, a sound that feels more like a challenge than a simple mechanical function.
"So, where to?" Bakugou asks as he pulls out of the parking space, the car's powerful headlights cutting through the dimming light.
"Just a couple blocks over," you direct, still somewhat taken aback by the smoothness of the ride. "Turn left here—it's not far."
As the car moves effortlessly through the streets, the conversation drifts from casual observations to more pointed questions about each other.
As the car glides through the city, you glance over at Bakugou, curiosity piqued. "So, what's 'Dynamite' doing at a mall so far from his usual stomping grounds?" you inquire, a playful tone in your voice.
Bakugou's response comes with a slight tilt of his head, as if assessing how much to share. "Had lunch with my parents," he explains, his tone matter-of-fact. "They wanted to meet up, and that place was a good halfway point. Can't always pick the most convenient locations"
"Sounds like a tricky balancing act," you reply, nodding in understanding. "It must be tough juggling all that—being a top hero and still finding time for family. Do you get to see them often?" Your question is genuine, digging a little deeper into his personal life.
Bakugou's expression shifts slightly, revealing a trace of vulnerability. "Not as often as I'd like," he admits, his eyes briefly meeting yours before returning to the road.
You glance over at him with a playful smirk. "You know, you totally strike me as a mama's boy," you tease, watching for his reaction.
Bakugou grunts, his scowl deepening slightly at the tease. "That old hag knows how to push my buttons," he admits, though there's a hint of fondness underlying his gruff tone.
You laugh in response, finding Bakugou's irritation more amusing than off-putting. "Well, good that you can see them. My parents live out in the country, so I don't see them very often," you explain, shifting slightly in your seat to face him more directly.
"But I do see my big sister like all the time, She's in the city, so we try to catch up whenever we can."
Bakugou pauses before asking, "Did you grow up in the country?"
You nod, reminiscing briefly. "Yeah, but my sister is six years older than me, so when she graduated, she moved into the city. I went with her." You smile at the memory. "It was quite the change, but I've come to love the city life."
Bakugou's response is gruff, and the conversation lapses into silence for a moment as you glance over at him.
Behind the wheel, his usual aggressive aura mellows into something calmer, almost serene, which is a stark contrast to his typical fiery demeanour.
