It had been a little over a two month since you started working at the hero agency, a period marked by challenges, learning experiences, and unexpected friendships.
On a day marked by clear skies and the gentle warmth of the sun, Kirishima had suggested taking a break from the intensity of the agency's daily grind.
The midday sun cast a warm glow over the city as you and Kirishima found yourselves at a small, casual restaurant just a few blocks away from the hero agency.
"Thanks for this, Kiri ," you said, appreciating the thoughtful invitation. "It's been non-stop since I started at the agency. I didn't realize how much I needed a breather until now."
Kirishima's response came with a warm, reassuring smile. "Of course! We all need a break sometimes. Plus, it's nice to hang out without all the chaos, right? Just relax and enjoy the food it's on me"
"I'll never understand how someone like Bakugou ended up with a best friend as uplifting as you. You two are like night and day."
Kirishima let out a light, easy laugh, the kind that put people at ease. "Ah, Bakugou's not as tough as he likes to make everyone think. We balance each other out, I guess. He pushes me to be stronger, and maybe I help him not to explode... too much," he explained, his grin suggesting he was well aware of the odd but strong dynamic between him and Bakugou.
Kirishima then nodded, his expression thoughtful. "I could say the same for you two, actually. You and Bakugou seem to work pretty well together."
You pondered his words for a moment before responding. "Yeah, maybe. Or it could be that I've just learned not to take everything he says to heart. Plus, he's fun to mess with," you added with a sly smile, highlighting the playful side of your interactions with Bakugou.
You both laughed, the light atmosphere between you both easy and comforting. As the laughter subsided, you leaned in, curiosity painting your features. "You know, I've been meaning to ask, how come you don't work with Bakugou at his agency? I figured you guys are so close."
Kirishima's laughter faded into a thoughtful expression at your question. "You know, I've been asked that before. It's not about how close we are, really. Bakugou and I, we've always supported each other's paths, even if they lead us in different directions," he explained, his usual upbeat demeanor shifting to a more serious tone.
"I believe in what he's doing with his agency, but I felt drawn to a different kind of work, one that aligns more with my own way of helping people. Plus, our friendship isn't defined by working together; it's about understanding and respecting each other's choices, no matter where they take us."
You nodded, appreciating the depth of their friendship. "Do you think you'll ever start your own agency?" you inquired, genuinely interested in Kirishima's future plans.
"Oh, of course," Kirishima replied, his eyes lighting up with ambition. "That's the dream, isn't it? To lead an agency based on the values of strength, courage, and protecting those who can't protect themselves. I want to create a place where everyone can shine in their own way, where we lift each other up. But it's not just about being the head of an agency; it's about making a real difference, you know?"
He paused, his enthusiasm palpable, before turning the question back to you with a curious tilt of his head. "What about you? Have you ever thought about what your path in the hero world looks like, beyond working with Bakugou?"
You hesitated at the question, a reflective pause coloring your tone. "To be honest, I don't really know. I'm not sure how long this partnership is going to last with Bakugou's agency, or how long I'll last... But having my own agency, making a mark in the hero world in my own way, it was a dream I used to have. It's just... after everything that's happened, I'm not sure if it's still in the cards for me. Maybe I'm still trying to figure out where I fit in all this."
