The soft hum of the elevator filled the silence as you leaned against the cool metal wall, staring at the floor numbers slowly ticking by. It was early, and the agency was just starting to buzz with activity. You hadn't enter the building for more than a minute when Bakugou messaged you, summoning you to his office for a briefing.

Your thoughts wandered, lingering on the previous weeks' missions with Bakugou. He was always intense, always focused, but there was something different in how you two had worked together lately. A good kind of different, at least, that's what you told yourself.

As the elevator neared the top floor, you took a deep breath, preparing for whatever Bakugou had in store for you today. A briefing could mean anything with him, another dangerous mission, more training, or maybe some new development you weren't expecting. Your heart picked up just a little at the thought of seeing him again.

The elevator doors slid open with a soft chime, and you stepped out into the hallway leading to Bakugou's office. As you approached the door, you smirked to yourself, deciding to throw in a little teasing to start the day.

"Don't tell me this is another one of your overly dramatic—" you started as the door swished open, but the words died on your lips.

Your eyes widened, and you froze mid-step.

Bakugou wasn't alone.

Standing next to him, casually leaning against his desk, was none other than.

Camie!?

Before you could gather your thoughts, Camie's eyes lit up with excitement as she spotted you. "Y/N, girl!" she beamed, pushing off the desk and walking toward you with her usual bouncy energy. "Nice to see ya! Isn't this, like, totally crazy that we're working together?"

Her casual enthusiasm only added to your shock, leaving you standing there, still trying to process the scene in front of you.

Before you could respond, Camie was already standing beside you, leaning in with a playful grin. "I mean, working with Bakugou, right? Total boss vibes."

You blinked, still trying to grasp the situation. "Working together?" The words echoed in your mind, making your stomach twist. Why hadn't Bakugou mentioned this?

Bakugou crossed his arms, clearly picking up on your confusion but not saying a word yet. His usual scowl was in place, though he seemed oddly calm.

Finally, you managed to find your voice. "Wait... what exactly is going on here?"

Without looking up from the paperwork he was flipping through, Bakugou responded after a brief pause. "Bubble Brain here is joining us on today's mission."

Camie let out a playful laugh, rolling her eyes. "Really, Kats? Still with that nickname?"

You stayed silent, watching them interact, a strange feeling creeping in as you observed the easy banter between them. Bakugou finally glanced up from the papers, catching the unsettled look on your face. He furrowed his brow for a moment before turning to Camie.

"Oi, Bubble Brain, give us a minute," he said gruffly, his tone more serious now.

Camie blinked in surprise but nodded, flashing you a smile before heading toward the door. "No prob! I'll catch ya guys outside."

As the door slid shut behind her, the air between you and Bakugou felt heavier.

"Sooo... you didn't think to, I don't know, tell me this first?" you said, folding your arms and raising an eyebrow.

Bakugou didn't even bother looking up from his paperwork. "I'm telling you now, aren't I?"

"You know what I mean," you shot back, the frustration clear in your voice. "A heads-up, maybe? Talk it out with me first?"
