Three days after the meeting, you found yourself standing outside one of Tokyo's largest talent agencies.
Fujikawa Entertainment occupied several floors of a glass-fronted building in the centre of the city, its name displayed in polished lettering above the entrance. Even after three years, the company remained one of the biggest names in Japan's entertainment industry, representing models, actors, idols and personalities whose faces appeared on everything from television screens to billboards.
Haruto had built most of it himself.
He'd started as an idol before moving into modelling, eventually using the fame and connections he'd accumulated to establish his own talent agency. By the time you'd met him, Fujikawa Entertainment had already grown far beyond his own career.
After his death, ownership of the company had remained within his family.
His older sister, Reina Fujikawa, had taken over as president shortly afterward.
And today, she had reluctantly agreed to meet with you.
You stared up at the building for another moment before exhaling.
"Well."
Bakugou stood beside you, hands buried in the pockets of his jacket.
"Standing out here ain't gonna do shit."
You glanced at him.
"I'm aware."
"Then move."
"Very supportive."
"Tch."
You followed him through the glass doors.
The meeting wasn't part of an official search. Not yet.
After everything you'd learned during the interrogation, the taskforce wanted another look at Haruto's history, particularly the years surrounding the creation and expansion of his company. If he'd truly been working with Shadow Requiem long before he'd ever met you, there was a chance something had survived in the agency's archives.
The problem was that right now, all you really had was the word of a man you weren't even convinced was Eclipse.
It wasn't enough to walk into a private company and start searching through years of records.
So before trying to push things further through the Commission and police, you'd decided to ask.
Politely.
You weren't particularly hopeful.
The lobby was exactly how you remembered it, though parts had clearly been renovated since you'd last been here. Pale stone floors stretched toward a large reception desk, digital advertisements cycling silently across screens along one wall.
And then you saw him.
Haruto's photograph still hung behind reception.
Your steps slowed.
It wasn't the only photograph. Campaigns featuring the agency's biggest clients covered most of the wall, but his portrait occupied the centre.
Haruto Fujikawa.
Founder.
The photograph had probably been taken years before his death. He wore the easy smile he'd perfected long before you'd met him, polished enough for a magazine cover without quite looking staged.
Three years later, and they still hadn't taken it down.
Bakugou stopped beside you.
His eyes followed yours toward the photograph before returning to your face.
