Chuck cheerfully recounted his arrival. He marveled at how well she was handling the situation.

"You've got a real knack for this place," he said with a mouthful of food, narrating his own nervous start.

"Hey Chuck, what do I look like?" I asked curiously.
There had not been a single mirror to be found anywhere in the glade.

"You have long, pretty black hair with bangs, dark brown eyes, and noticeable freckles, and you're quite short. I'd say you look Asian, like Minho."

"You're pretty." Chuck smiled at me,

Before I could say something, two figures in the distance caught my eye, coming from an opening in the wall I hadn't noticed as I was trying not to pay attention to it.

"Who are those?" I asked Chuck
"Oh, those guys? They're the runners, the strongest, the fastest, they're looking for a way out of the maze." Chuck said, his eyes gleaming with admiration.

"Wait, Chuck, did you just say maze?" "What?" The boy said timidly "You just said maze." "I did?" his eyes avoiding mine. "Yeah." What are they hiding? I wondered

Time passed, and soon enough, the bonfire was lit.
I found a spot facing the gladers on a log, sitting down, I could practically feel the stares of the boys, which I chose to ignore.

"This one's for you, greenie!" it seemed to come from that guy with peculiar eyebrows. I think his name was Gally.

They were wrestling around the bonfire, trying to push each other out. what a safety hazard. I thought to myself, of course, Gally won, being the biggest guy in the glade.

He looked over at me and smiled, showing off his triumph, I simply rolled my eyes and looked away.

Suddenly, I felt an arm wrap around my shoulder, I looked to my side only to realize it was one of the runners.

"So you're the famous greenie I've been hearing about?" The guy smiled as he looked at me.

I have to admit, he was handsome. He was Asian and well-built. You can tell he uses hair gel to get that perfect sleek hair.

"I'm Minho, keeper of the runners. If you have any questions, feel free to ask. I wouldn't mind sparing my time for a princess." he said confidently

Before I could respond, I rudely got interrupted by Newt nudging him aside and sitting in between us.

"Hands off Minho, Alby said no one touches the girl, and that includes you."

Minho, clearly annoyed, moved to the side to make room for Newt.

"You are such a killjoy Newt, did you know?"
"She was just about to ask for my hand in marriage." he joked, earning a laugh from me. Maybe this wasn't so bad. I said to myself.

Mei.

I heard it ringing in my head, my name, like someone was calling me. I jolted up in shock as both guys looked at me with concern.

"Hey greenie, you alright?" Newt asked
"Mei, I remember, My name is Mei!"  I looked at them excitedly. I finally remembered something.

"Welcome home, Mei." Minho smiled a genuine one this time.
