We ran through the maze, jogging back to the blades,
Minho led the group, with Thomas by his side.
I was with newt, who was running a little slower than everyone, he was practically hopping, and he had a limp I never noticed before.
"Newt, you need help?" I took his arm and wrapped it around my shoulder, giving him support.
"I'm fine, but thanks mei." he tried to assure me, but I saw right through him.
Thomas suddenly stopped, right at the end of the wall, peeking out the corner, making the group bump into each other.
"Grievers?" I asked him, still supporting newt,
He nodded, "Yeah." I could hear the clanking of its metal feet slamming onto the ground.
Chuck looked scared, "Shit.."
"Take this Chuck. Stay behind us." Minho stated, handing over the key to him.
Teresa tied her hair up, looking more determined than ever, "It's okay, just stick with me." giving him a small smile, which calmed him down.
"Once we're through, it'll activate and the door will open, We get out now or we die trying." Thomas looked at all of us, making sure we knew the plan,
"Let's go!"
We charged towards the Grievers, their mechanical screeches echoing off the maze walls. I darted between them, narrowly avoiding their deadly claws. Every step brought me closer to the exit, but with each passing second, the sounds of my friends in danger grew louder.
The key tumbled through the air, nearly slipping away, but I lunged forward, catching it just in time. My heart raced as I sprinted back, but my feet tangled, sending me over the edge.
"Help!" I cried, teetering on the edge. Two pairs of hands clasped mine, yanking me to safety. Teresa smiled "I've got you." and Chuck looked at me with worry.
"Thanks," I gasped, rising to my feet. "No time to celebrate, look out!" Two more Grievers loomed behind me, their metallic bodies a menacing sight.
"Let's go!" I urged, sprinting towards the group. As I reached the wall, the key beeped, and the door slid open. "It worked!" Chuck said in surprise, "No shit," I muttered, leading them into the tunnel, the path ahead shrouded in uncertainty.
Pounding the wall in frustration, my hand brushed against a hidden button. With a desperate press, a red hologram of the maze's blueprint appeared, demanding identity confirmation.
"Teresa, you try," I urged, watching as she scanned her finger. It turned green, making the walls close, crushing the Grievers like insects. The tunnel sealed shut, enveloping us in darkness.
