The whole family was sitting on couch in living room. Mrs Kim on the largest one with her two daughters beside, while Mr Kim sat on another seprate piece facing the lawyer sitting on the similar one.
"Mr Kim, there won't be anything such as child support or custody here because both of your daughters are adult"
The lawyer explained.
"Anything else?"
Mrs Kim asked.
"Nothing much, just some alimony and the reason for the divorce"
The lawyer said.
"Why is that needed?"
Mr Kim interrogated all of a sudden.
"Because your marriage is twenty eight years old with both children adults, there might be a reason"
Lawyer explained the reason.
"We never wanted to stay together, but for our children we did and now when both of them are moving out we took the decision"
Mrs Kim answered.
"Can your daughters move out of the conversation?"
The lawyer presented an unexpected need.
The couple found it odd,they agreed though. Chang-min and Chae-yong left the room.
"Are you sure? Because my dad was bestfriend of the dad of yours,Ho-seok"
The lawyer said out of the blue.
"And Aera,Our mom's were cousins"
He added.
This question struck both of them like an arrow. Few months ago when they decided about divorce they never thought of this.
"Eun-wook, I know my marriage was set up by your parents and our parents liked it but all six of them were wrong"
Mr Kim said.
"My dad didn't wanted me to marry you, so change your six to five"
Mrs Kim said all of a sudden.
"Yeah, her dad was the only one right"
Mr Kim snapped.
"Really, Aera?"
Eun-wook asked his cousin.
Mrs Kim couldn't answer, she felt lack of words.
"I'm a lawyer, and I haven't lost any case if my opponent wasn't someone with more experience or was lying my dear Ho-seok"
Eun-wook said in an sarcastic tone.
"Eun, I don't know why you're acting like this, I would like to know though?"
Mrs Kim said.
"Aera's dad was a super hero for her, he loved Aera for her achievements but never bothered to care about het older sister who was not as good as Aera. So what Aera did was a generational trauma"
Eun-wook explained Aera being rude to Chang-min in seconds. It affected Area hard.
She realised the only reason she was important for her dad wasn't that she was his family member. She realised her dad was wrong this whole time and so was she herself.
"My parents weren't good either bro,they killed my first love"
Mr Kim said with a sigh.
"Though they couldn't play favouritism because you being the only child and still perfect"
Eun-wook added.
At this point, it was too much for Mrs Kim to handle. She was being the worst mother, that too thinking that she was following her dad.
The only decision she took her decision which her dad didn't liked was about her marriage. It was the best descision of her life, but she ruined it by still following her dad. The worst fact about all of this was that she was realising it at the age of fifty five. It was too late, both her daughters hated her now. She wanted to go back in past and change everything, sadly she couldn't. She was at the verge of breaking down, but she handled herself.
"I think we should talk further next time"
Eun-wook said as he stood up before leaving them alone.
"Ho-seok, I know I can't fix my relationship with children, but can I atleast fix it with you"
Mrs Kim said looking down.
