This is a relatively flat basin, surrounded by layers of mountains. Without the Luzhan belt, it would have been impossible to explore such a place and discover this basin.
A river flows around the mountain's foot, a tributary of the Heihe River. Herbivorous animals graze leisurely on the wasteland, rarely encountering human traces. Suddenly, a group of humans appears, causing the animals to look up briefly before moving on.
The timid rabbit is afraid of all large creatures and hides early. A small group of staghorn horses drinking water by the river raises their heads and quickly runs back to the mountains and forests.
There are natural mountain barriers, sufficient water sources, and groups of various fat-bodied animals. There are even many plants and trees on the wasteland with ripe wild fruits, even if it is not clear whether there are hidden dangers under these appearances. At least everyone who came here saw the scene in front of them and had only one thought in their minds.
This is indeed a very suitable place for them to live. This winter, even if they are unable to organize the soldiers to go out hunting, the prey in the basin alone will prevent them from going hungry.
Everyone’s tired faces are full of smiles as they clear out a place for rest in a relatively flat area by the river.
"Are we going to set up a tent here?" Axue is impatient and can't help asking when she just settles down.
Hei Fu shakes his head in a good mood. "We have to patrol this place first to make sure that there are no dangerous beasts before we decide to set up a tent."
"No," Lu Zhan says after hearing this. "There are no large beasts here; this place is the site of staghorn horses."
"Staghorn horse?" Luo Zhen is a little curious when he hears the name of this animal for the first time and even wonders if this animal could be tamed as a mount like a wild horse.
Lu Zhan points to the high hill not far away. Luo Zhen looks in the direction pointed by him. There is a tall male staghorn horse standing there. Because the distance is a bit far away, Luo Zhen can only see a vague outline. He feels that it is a very beautiful deer. The big pair of antlers with many prongs seems to be glowing against the setting sun.
The staghorn horse seems to know that these people are looking at him, raises his hair, and makes a loud "yell" sound, then turns and leaves.
"Is it warning us?" Axue stands up in surprise and looks in the direction where the staghorn horse was leaving. She rarely comes into contact with this large animal. Generally, the prey that soldiers return from hunting is broken necks early. Dead.
"Well. They like to drink water in the river here. If we set up a tent, we must stay away from this river," Lu Zhan explains as he puts the things away and brings back several bowls of river water for Luo Zhen to see that he is in good spirits. He leans over and asks tentatively, "Are you going to fry those delicious pieces of meat tonight?"
"The rest of our food has been roasted. There is not so much fat to be fried into oil."
"It's okay. There are so many animals here. I can go hunting and come back now." Lu Zhan is familiar with this place. He would come here to have a big meal in the winter when there was not enough food. Naturally, what Animals are fatty, and it is clear what animal has only a handful of fur and bones.
In the past few days, Luo Zhen has been so tired that he didn’t have the energy to make food. Every time he ate, he was cooked by others. He is used to eating Luo Zhen’s cooking. Lu Zhan only feels that other people’s barbecue is hard to swallow. It's better to eat raw food to make it delicious. Now when he thinks of Luo Zhen's craftsmanship, Lu Zhan can't help but drool.
