When Lu Zhan first ate the heart of a beast out of hunger, he believed that all beast hearts contained power. Even if their power wasn't as potent as Jingguo's, it could temporarily weaken Lu Zhan while slowly strengthening his body.

For a long time, Lu Zhan secretly stole hearts from warriors in the tribe before disposing of the beasts' innards. However, he didn't always succeed due to a certain individual, Wu, who kept a close eye on him. Lu Zhan didn't dare reveal his strength in the tribe for fear of being discovered, especially by the black witch.

Several failed attempts led Lu Zhan to hunt beasts on his own. Through over a decade of experience, he learned that not all beast hearts were effective; some even contained toxicity. However, he discovered a pattern: only fierce beasts that had consumed their companions or ancestors experienced a change in their hearts. This change varied based on the strength of what was consumed. Despite encountering numerous beasts, it was the giant anaconda heart that granted him the ability to fully transform.

Listening to Lu Zhan's explanation, Hei Yuan felt relieved and pondered deeply. The Wizard Palace never undertook meaningless missions. Though he hadn't paid much attention to the mission due to his early departure, there must be something attracting those wizards.

Fortunately, the Sun Tribe was well-hidden. Even Hei Yuan discovered the anomaly here only by chance. As long as they weren't directly at the tribe, it would remain safe, for now.

Luo Zhen, looking slightly regretful, asked about the hearts' usefulness. Lu Zhan suggested giving them to Ah Er and Ah San, as the remaining power in the hearts might facilitate their transformation. Meanwhile, ordinary beast hearts weren't useful to Lu Zhan anymore. He suggested cooking them for the flame ants instead.

During dinner, Hei Yuan, showing rare consideration, pushed food toward Lu Zhan and Luo Zhen. Lu Zhan, amused, jokingly suggested they help him kill more monsters after dinner.

Before bed, Luo Zhen fed a little Tai Sui soup to the unconscious He Zhan. Suddenly, He Zhan grabbed Luo Zhen's wrist weakly, his eyes barely open. Unable to see clearly, He Zhan felt reassured by the presence before him, closing his eyes once more.

Noticing Luo Zhen's stillness, Lu Zhan approached to check on He Zhan's condition.

The so-called bed was just a random piece of wood on the ground covered with thick animal skins—a makeshift arrangement. Their actual bed, a large wooden one made by black cliff, was placed in their room. Despite Hei Yuan staying for so long, he still slept in the wind's hide because A Jiao frequently cleaned it, and the hide didn't have a strong smile.

Luo Zhen's house only had two rooms: one turned into their bedroom and the other into a washing room. Whether it was a patient or a guest, there was barely enough space in the living room to accommodate them. The reason Luo Zhen was so invested in the construction of the new house was partly his desire for a better living environment.

Considering Luo Zhen's past inability to afford a house, owning a small bungalow in this new world excited him. Even though the materials were simple and he had to do everything himself, the fact that it was entirely his own filled Luo Zhen with anticipation. If possible, he wanted to build the biggest house technology allowed.

"Haven't fully woken up yet," Luo Zhen shook his head.

Lu Zhan observed He Zhan's lips moving, as if he was saying something, but no sound came out. Lu Zhan guessed it might be about a beast. However, He Zhan couldn't respond; he seemed to lose strength and slowly closed his eyes. Now, all they could do was wait for He Zhan to fully awaken.

Luo Zhen got up in the middle of the night, concerned about a potential fever due to He Zhan's serious injury. Despite the effectiveness of Tai Sui soup, Luo Zhen couldn't be completely at ease. Fortunately, He Zhan slept through the night without any signs of fever, indicating his robust physique.
