The entrance to the cave was blocked by several huge stones, leaving only a narrow passage for the soldiers to enter and exit. Several soldiers, some wounded and fatigued, stood guard. Those still stationed at the door caught sight of Shan Song, their expressions shifting from concern to relief as if they had found a lifeline.
Shansong emerged from the cave, and the soldiers behind quickly moved the nearby stone to block the high gap, preventing wild beasts from rushing in.
"Shan Song."
"How is it?" Shan Song asked, sweeping his eyes around.
"They're in the grass. I saw several wolf kings just now, and they seem to be attacking together."
"Could it be because we just took two corpses from the same family?" A worried warrior asked. After all, wolves still have a strong sense of territory, and cooperation is rare.
"Can't rule it out." They just had a fight with the wolves. Even if they didn't take the two wolf corpses, the wolves would not easily let them go; otherwise, Shan Song would not mention the idea of joining other tribes.
Who wants to join other tribes if there is a little hope of survival? After all, if you join another tribe, even a warrior as powerful as Shansong, you can still live alone until you are old. If you are unlucky, you can only commit yourself. He once heard that there was a tribe nearby that had a sacred tree that allowed men to have children. It was the most powerful tribe nearby.
Shan Song's eyes darkened. He bent down slightly and put his hands on the ground. His animal skins were taken off when he left the cave. Now his naked upper body was quickly covered with brown scales, with only a blink of an eye. A giant beast two meters high appeared in front of everyone.
The beast of Shan Song looks a bit like a pangolin at first glance, but its mouth is larger, and the sharp teeth inside can be seen when it opens. The ears are hidden in the rim of the head. The beastly Shan Song has better hearing than in human form. It is much weaker, but its sense of smell is very sensitive, and it can detect where the enemy is hiding in the grass by smell alone.
Seeing Shan Song beasts, the wolves did not hide anymore. They emerged from the grass, densely packed with at least one hundred heads. Compared with the number of soldiers on Shan Song, there were only five people at full capacity.
When other soldiers saw the wolves, they transformed into beasts. The five people scattered around the entrance of the cave. Unless they all died, otherwise, these wolves would never be allowed to approach the entrance of the cave.
A few wolves stepped forward slowly. They were a little bigger than the average adult wolf. The smelly liquid fell from the corners of their mouths. Their gloomy eyes were full of greed, and they seemed to communicate with each other with a glance, envisioning tearing several people apart and devouring them.
The pangolin is not really suitable for fighting, but the hard lin armor on their back makes them stronger than ordinary orcs. A few fighters did not take the initiative to attack but only bent down slightly to prevent the wolves from easily attacking their soft bellies.
"Wow." A wolf sent an offensive signal and rushed down first. The place where they stood was originally higher than the cave. The strength of the rush plus their weight can cause a lot of impact on the beast people.
Shan Song's face shrank, and the thick and huge tail behind him flicked and swept towards the first wild wolf that pounced on him. The wild wolf couldn't stop and was swept to the side of the abdomen, then thrown into the nearby grass.
But at the same time, another wild wolf leaped flexibly onto Shansong's back. The huge wolf's mouth opened, and it began tearing at the scales on his neck. Shansong shook his head, and the wolf died. However, it didn't release its bite on the scales. Shan Song had no time to deal with the wild wolf on his back first, and another wild wolf started to pounce on him. Shan Song lifted his tail again and accurately swept away the wild wolf that had jumped closer.
