The hotel was quiet. Charlie and Vaggie had gone to heaven for three days for a series of meetings regarding redemption, Angel had gone to work, Alastor had gone off on some secretive business (probably tearing souls apart and broadcasting it idk), and Niffty was well... chasing bugs and cleaning, leaving Husk basically on his own for the afternoon.

Husk decided to close the bar early, finding himself on the lobby couch with a book and a glass of whiskey. His reading glasses sat comfortably above his nose as he flipped through the pages.

He hadn't paid attention to the time until he heard the front doors swing open, revealing a tired and drained Angel Dust. Angel headed straight to the couch, flopping onto the cushions, his head falling into Husks lap. Angel pulled himself between Husks book, clinging to him with all four arms.

"What the fu-!"

Husk muttered, shutting his book and looking down at the tall spider demon. He went to push Angel off of him, but quickly noticed how drained and sad Angel looked.

"You... You okay...?"

Angel shrugged, looking up at Husk. He was shivering, his fur covered in goosebumps.

"...you're warm..."

Angel muttered, snuggling close. Husk sighed, he had an undeniable soft spot for the porn star. Despite his annoyance at the sudden contact, he'd be lying if he said his heart didn't brighten.

"You're cold."

Husk retorted finally.

"You could've just.. gotten a blanket or something.."

"They're not as warm as you, Husky~"

Angel giggled against Husks leg, curling closer. Husk grumbled quietly, but didn't protest any further. He glanced around the large sofa, spotting a throw blanket hanging off the other side. With Angel clinging to him with a death grip, he moved the taller demon around in his arms so he could reach it.

"Can you please sit up?"

Angel pouted, letting out a whine and nuzzling into Husks Leg. Husk sighed again, attempting to reach for the blanket a second time, but was ultimately unable too.

"Angel... sit up for Christ sake!"

Husk grumbled, pulling Angel up. Angel grumbled and pouted, tugging on Husks arm in disappointment. It was less his coldness, but more for comfort.

"Whyyyy...? It's sooo colddd... and you're so warm... and comfy---"

"Can you just hang on a second?!"

Despite Husks obvious annoyance, he knew in his heart he didn't mind it. He grabbed the blanket, immediately draping it over Angel's shoulder. Angels face brightened almost instantly as he nuzzled into the blanket cape, and Husk leaned back into the couch.

He felt Angels bundled up body flop less than gracefully back onto his lap. He grumbled, wanting to be annoyed but couldn't find the feeling. His heart lit up, and his hands mindlessly found themselves stroking the spiders hair.

"Mmm... thank you..."

Angel spoke softly, sleepily glancing up at Husks eyes. He had an awful day at work, and Husk had no idea how much this small gesture healed his broken spirits.

"It's nothing just... let me read my book..."

Husk smiled softly, picking back up his book. He heard Angel hum in acknowledgment at the request. Husk flipped through a few pages but ultimately couldn't focus. His attention went back to the dozed off spider in his lap, and he went back to gently petting his head. Angel would never understand just how much Husk loved him. Husk leaned forward and kissed Angels head, an out of character gesture but one that was invited. He sunk back into the couch, a small dust of pink on his cheeks.

"Sleep well, cuddlebug."
