Jet first meets Sonic in the game Sonic Riders. One night, Jet and his Babylon Rogues - Wave and Storm - were offered an opportunity by Doctor Eggman: enter his EX-World Grand Prix and win the Chaos Emeralds that are being offered as the prize. He explains that it's with the Emeralds that they can properly use the key for their ancestral home of Babylon Garden. Jet believes this to be an easy job until Eggman reveals to him the biggest obstacle: Sonic. Jet brushed off the worry. While admitting that Sonic may be the fastest land creature, Jet proclaims that, with his Extreme Gear, he's nothing more than a joke.
Jet and his Rogues eventually arrive in Future City to obtain a Chaos Emerald, the required entry fee, and eventually find one. It's during their escape with it when Jet has his first encounter with Sonic as he drops down in front of their path to block them. Jet manages to easily swerve past Sonic, but the hedgehog pursues after grabbing the Extreme Gear of Storm - who Sonic's friend Knuckles knocked down earlier. Sonic manages to catch up to Jet and the two proceed to race while trying to cut each other off. Jet remarks that Sonic's not bad before blowing the hedgehog right off his board and racing off with the other Rogues, all the while mocking Sonic for supposedly being the "fastest thing alive". Sonic, after getting up off the ground, remarks that he's got new competition. (the whole game is like this, as well as the sequels, so not really going to explain everything- News flash- they both become rivals).
Things I like about this ship/dislike.
-I'm not a huge fan of this ship using the rivals to lovers trope. Where it worked for Shadow and Knuckles- Jet however hasn't got any major tragic backstory or anything that Sonic would be able to help him with.
-Wow they are both fast on their hoverboards (that's something to ship them for I guess).
-The only thing these two would be doing together is racing each 24/7. Nothing romantic whatsoever. Plus at least they have some respect for each other.
-Hey at least the fanart is so cute (even though I don't really ship it, it's not bad).
This ship gets a 4.5/10.
