Sally and Amy are very close friends in the Archie series. It is shown in Mutiple issues that Amy respects Sally's relationship with Sonic and remains best friends with Sally. It is also shown that Sally is worried about Amy's safety when she decides to do something reckless. (that's pretty much the summary from the shipping wiki).
Things I like about this ship/dislike.
- Amy and Sally both hold no ill will towards each other when having a crush on the same person. They both want the other to be happy. That's some real friendship right there.
- Both work well together when handling threats from others.
This is definitely the trope of two girls falling for one guy but end up liking each other instead. Honestly, Sally and Amy make this trope work since they are really good friends, and they would be so cute together.
