Goku disappeared from sight. His jacket hung in the air for a second, then dropped to the ground. I looked around but there was no sign of him.
Whis pointed at the sky. "There."
Goku had gone to the sky, higher than the others. He stared at the big red ball of energy for a moment, then he started to glow like a light bulb. Sparks of electricity crawled all over his body. His hair sprang up and turned to gold.
Dad pumped both fists in the air. "Yes, yes! He turned Super Saiyan!"
Goku pulled back and cocked his hands to the side, a familiar stance that we all knew so well. There was no doubt about what he was going to do next.
"Ka..."
"Me..."
A ball of white light started to grow in his hands.
"Ha..."
"Me..."
He thrusted his palms forward and fired a beam of energy towards the huge red ball.
"Wave!"
The huge ball turned into a mess of different colors. The earth shook beneath our feet and I took dad's hand, but my eyes remained focused on the light show above us.
Boom!
It was the biggest firework I had ever seen. The blast thundered through the clouds, sending sparks of energy flying in different directions. I wished Mr. Toriyama would've seen this.
"He heard that for sure," Whis said.
Master Roshi nodded. "He was a gift to us all."
"Farewell Akira-san," dad said.
I raised my hands to the sky. "Arigato gozaimasu!"
