𝗟𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗹𝗳 | 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘀

𝗧𝘄𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘆-𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗲, 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗽 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀.

Klaus barely has time to park before Adalyn rushes out of the car and sprints toward Rebekah, Elijah, and her children. She stops in her tracks as soon as she sees her, as though she can't believe her eyes. Rebekah and Elijah both smile at her as Klaus catches up with them, and Elijah wastes no time handing the smiling twins to Adalyn

"Curse on the first-born? What the bloody hell is that supposed to mean?" Rebekah asked her brother

"Well, according to Finn, our sister Freya didn't die of plague. She was taken as payment by our aunt Dahlia, who then cursed all Mikaelson first-borns for eternity," Klaus explained to his siblings

"Is any of this true?" Adalyn asked as she was concerned

"It is if we are to believe Finn, who learned it from the bastion of truth, our mother," Elijah stated to the girl

"Well, no wonder Finn hates us. He lost the sister he adored and instead got a judgy pack of siblings who found him unbearably dull," Rebekah remarked to the others

"So, is there any chance of us running into your loony aunt Dahlia any time soon?" Adalyn asked looking at her babies

"The fable's over a thousand years old and Dahlia is long dead," Elijah debunked to her

"Like Esther?" Adalyn questioned with a knowing look

"No one's going to hurt Hope and Henry, because no one's going to find her and there's enough wood, Rebekah or you'll burn down the whole bloody state of Arkansas," Klaus remarked to his sister

"Well, we're just missing a key ingredient," Rebekah stated as Klaus sighed

"No, we're not," Klaus warned the blonde

"Yes, we are so back me up, Elijah," Rebekah pleaded some more

"I suspect Niklaus would rather choke on the ashes," Elijah stated with a chuckle

"What are you all talking about?" Adalyn asked as she was now confused

"Well, before we light it, we write down our wishes for each other to burn for luck, It was Kol's favorite part when we were kids," Rebekah explained to the Hybrid

"It's further evidence as to why we should ignore it," Klaus remarked once again

"Hope and Henry's first bonfire season, I like it and we're doing it," Adalyn stated before Rebekah ran inside

"I found it and I wonder if it'll work," Rebekah stated as she came back out

"Oh, bloody hell," Klaus remarked earning a chuckle from Adalyn

"Come on, let's try it! Hey, Nik, do you think you can cram us all into a selfie?" Rebekah asked looking at him

"Oh, Niklaus is a virtuoso at cramming his siblings into confined spaces," Elijah joked some more

"Well, I'm just glad I traveled hundreds of miles to visit my mentally ill brother, only to have him insult me to my face," Klaus remarked in return

"Oh, come on, just take the picture," Adalyn pleaded with him

" Aw, see? I wish that it could always be like this," Rebekah admitted with a smile

"If wishes were horses..." Elijah started to speak

"Beggars would ride but you realize we'll have to burn it. You want me to make a wish for the family, Rebekah? I wish it didn't have to be like this but, it does and we can't risk it falling into the wrong hands," Klaus stated looking at the picture

Adalyn had put the twins down for bedtime and Klaus was standing in the doorway admiring her motherly side as she did so. Adalyn turned around and walked over to him before stepping into his embrace.

"This was a nice surprise besides having to burn the picture after we took it but we have to protect them," Adalyn spoke in a soft voice

"They'll be okay and so will we," Klaus spoke in comfort

"We're going to have to leave them again," Adalyn spoke with tears

"Maybe not, I might have found a way," Klaus spoke as she smiled

"We could be an actual family," Adalyn spoke looking at him

"We could," Klaus agreed with a smile

Adalyn smiled before leaning up and kissing him, he wrapped his arms around her waist before picking her up. He carried her to the empty guest bedroom where they had put their bags before plopping her down on the bed.
