"Ugh..."

I grunt as I open my eyes. Gah, so bright! I frown when the light stabs my retina. As soon as I adjust my vision, I open my eyes to see my parents by my side.

"Mom! Dad!" I quickly sit down to hug them, but I'm greeted by the pain in the stomach when I move. I quickly lay back down while frowning. Ouchh!!

"Iseul," Dad calls me. I pout and look at both of them with teary eyes. Are they going to say they miss me?

"I miss you too-"

"Break up with Kyungsoo,"

My tears stop rolling down. I blink at them cluelessly.

"Uh... What?"

"You heard him," Mom adds with a stern voice. I stare at both of their faces. This is scary. They look dead serious without any hint of a smile on their face. This is not the greeting I expected!

"Oh. Um. How do you know?" I ask. Guess the secret's been out. I can see how Dad sighs and Mom looks away.

"Hyeonwoo and Aera told us," Dad says. I clench my fist upon hearing that. Those rats!

"Don't get mad at them. I forced them to tell us everything by threatening them," Mom continues. Oh gosh, I just know that Mom is threatening to whisper words of evil into their parents's ears so that they go against their relationship. I know because that's literally the only weakness they have!

"Oh. But Mom, Dad, I didn't get stabbed because of him-"

"Yes, you did!" Mom shouts. I quickly stop my sentence as I flinch. Mom has never raised her voice at me before. Not even when she was angry or I was super annoying.

"If you didn't date him, this whole thing wouldn't even happened!" Mom says as she sobs. I bite my lower lips. Oh my God, I made mom cries. Dad hugs Mom to console her while sighing.

"We know that you even receive death threats through letters,"

"What? How did you-" Now how the hell did he know that? I haven't even told anyone, not even to Aera or Hyeonwoo! I know both of them will be worried.

"Aera found them when she was cleaning your room," Dad answers. I feel like smashing my head into the wall. Great, just great! Why did I keep those letters again? Argh!

"You got it all wrong. Those letters don't even faze me. I'm not a scaredy cat! That's just like a child play," I explain. No, but I'm really not afraid of them! If I did, I would've reported them to the police! I just thought of it as Mika's emo teenager phase.

But it wasn't Mika who sent the letters. It was Jeon Hwa.

But still...

"That's literally the reason why you ended up in here. Because you're not a scaredy cat!" Dad says. Um... I couldn't tell if he was nagging at me or praising me.
