Leng's POV
I was getting ready for an audition I never expected to get. Doubt consumed me—would I even have a chance, or would I fail again like I did before? My thoughts were interrupted by my phone’s ringtone. It was Moonon.
"Hey, buddy! Are you ready? This is the best opportunity you’ll ever get. Don't be late!" he said, his voice full of excitement.
"Bro, are you done? I’m still getting ready, and I don't even know if I can get this role. And here you are, making it worse," I replied, frustrated.
"Relax! Just because you failed once doesn’t mean you’ll fail again. You’ve got this, I know it," Moonon reassured me. "You’re more confident in me than I am in myself."
"That’s because you lack confidence, you idiot," he teased. "Now hurry up, I’m coming to pick you up. Alright, bye."
I sighed, feeling a bit better. He’s right. I should be more confident. Let’s do this, Leng.
I went downstairs, and Moonon was already waiting for me.
"Did you wait long?" I asked.
"I’m used to waiting for you. Don’t you think?" he shot back.
"Can’t you talk nicely to me just once?" I grumbled.
"If I start talking nicely, I won’t be your best friend anymore. So, what do you want?" he teased.
I rolled my eyes. "Just start the car. We need to get there."
We reached the GMMTV building, and my nerves hit me like a wave. My hands were shaking, and Moonon noticed.
"Hey, listen to me. Don’t be so afraid. You’re going to get this role. You’re good-looking, your body’s perfect, and you’re amazing. Just go in there and do your best," he said.
I shook my head. "Don’t exaggerate. You said the same thing before the PitBabe audition. And look what happened—I lost that role. Do you think I’m really good enough? This is impossible. And now I’m auditioning for Kidnap at GMMTV, the biggest company in Thailand. You really think I’ll get it? Stop making me daydream."
Moonon gave me a firm look. "See, you lack confidence. But trust me, just go in there and give it your all. I won’t force you anymore after this, but just this one last time, okay?"
I sighed. "Fine, I’ll go."
"Wait, should I call Ohm? He could be here to support you."
"What? No way! I don’t want to meet him now. Please, I don’t want to embarrass myself. After this audition, I’m not coming back here, and I’m definitely not meeting him," I replied, panicking.
Moonon smirked. "He’s your longtime crush, though."
"He was," I said, trying to keep calm. "But now he’s a famous actor. Please, stop bringing it up."
"Alright, alright. Best of luck, my boy. I know you’ll get it," Moonon said, his voice full of energy.
I giggled at his childish enthusiasm as I headed inside.
They told me to go up to the third floor for the audition. My nerves only worsened as I approached. I could feel the sweat building up, and I was sure I looked like a mess. But I was doing this for Moonon, and this would be my last try.
The audition room was full of guys. The competition was overwhelming, and I had little hope of getting the role. But I gave it my best shot, despite my lack of confidence. I kept my promise to myself from the morning.
When I finished, I left the building and noticed posters of Ohm and Nanon all around. They looked great together, and seeing them happy made me smile... but I couldn’t help wondering if Ohm was really as happy as he seemed.
Shaking off the thought, I met up with Moonon again. As always, he was more excited than I was, eager to know how it went.
"See? I told you everything would go well. Trust in yourself. You’re going to get the role," he said, grinning ear to ear.
Hearing him so happy made me feel better, too. I wasn’t as excited as I had been for the PitBabe audition, but I wasn’t depressed either. Acting was just a hobby for me, and even if I didn’t make it, I had my family’s business and my farm. But I still wanted to give it my all.
As I got home, I said goodbye to Moonon and went upstairs. The whole day had drained me, but I was at peace, knowing I had done my best.
