Ohm’s POV

I don’t know why, but ever since the incident, I’ve become more cautious around Leng. I constantly find myself watching what he’s doing, silently judging every little action. And today, as planned, Leng is here, stepping into my house.

As usual, my unpaid servant a.k.a. Thai was lounging somewhere. “Hey, come downstairs! Grab the bags while I help Leng inside,” I yelled.

Thai responded with his usual sass, “I never imagined you taking care of someone, and that too with so much effort. Incredible!”

“Will you stop? I swear, why did Maa and Paa even pick you up from the temple? Now I have to raise you!”

“Haha, fine. I’m coming, just give me a second!”

I rolled my eyes. “Then stop the drama and just listen for once. But nooo, why would you ever listen to me in one go?”

Turning around, I realized Leng wasn’t behind me. My heart sank for a moment, thinking he might’ve run away. But then again, running wasn’t possible in his current state.

Thai came downstairs just then, smirking as he said, “Relax, lover boy. Leng is already inside. Now carry the bags yourself. Maybe use all that gym training for something useful instead of just making Leng stare at your abs.”

“Enough!” I snapped. “Don’t you dare say things like that in front of him!”

“Oh, really? And you think I’ll listen to you, dumbass?” Thai shot back, grinning.

“Show some respect to your elders! I swear, Maa really skipped teaching you manners. Nothing but trouble, huh? You’re adopted, right?” I teased before bolting as he lunged at me.

Leng’s laughter filled the room, clear and genuine. Seeing his smile after so many days made my heart flutter. But why…?

---

At the dining table:

“P’Leng, can I just call you Leng?” Thai asked.

“Why not?” Leng replied warmly. “You’re like a brother to me, and I’ve always wanted a real brother. So, of course, you can.”

I couldn’t help but butt in. “Can I call you just Leng too? Or is that privilege reserved for him?” I asked, feigning offense.

Thai snorted. “I show respect to cute puppies, not grumpy monkeys.”

And just like that, the daily dose of bickering began. But in between all the teasing and laughter, Leng started feeling more at ease with us. In no time, Thai and Leng became like brothers, and I… well, I ended up being the target of their combined antics.

---

Three weeks later:

When Leng had fully recovered, I decided it was time.

“Leng, can we talk for a second?” I asked hesitantly.

“Sure. What’s up?”

“Would you consider taking up the Kidnap series with me again?”

Leng looked conflicted. “Ohm, I don’t want to—”

“Please. I can’t handle the constant hate and comparisons with NNN anymore. I need you, Leng. You’re the only one I can rely on. Without you, I’ll end up falling into depression—”

Leng sighed. “Okay, I’ll do it. But… will GMM even accept me again?”

I handed him the contract renewal letter.

“Wait… how? When?” he asked, stunned.

“That doesn’t matter right now. What matters is that we should start prepping for workshops and events soon. For the public, you’ve always been a GMM artist. Just be comfortable with that.”

A soft smile spread across his face. “You don’t know how happy I am to work with you again. I love yo—you—”

Before he could finish, Thai barged in. “Will you lovebirds stop? Seriously, find me a girlfriend already so I can leave you two alone!”

“Leng, I won’t even respond to him. You know how this adopted child is,” I said smugly.

“Enough of this nonsense!” Thai exclaimed. “Leng, tell him I’m not adopted!”

Leng laughed nervously. “Stop it, both of you. But… even if he is adopted, it’s probably because one Ohm was more than enough for his parents!”

Thai grinned triumphantly. “See? Even Leng agrees you’re too much!”

“Leng just confirmed you’re adopted,” I shot back with a smirk.

Thai groaned, “Lenggggg!”

Leng, panicking, said, “I didn’t! I didn’t! I just… assumed!”

The three of us broke into laughter, and the playful banter continued late into the night.
