Leng's POV

As I sat there lost in my thoughts, Moonon walked into my house. He sat across from me, his gaze full of enthusiasm.

Moonon: "You’re so talented and lucky to get this role, and the main lead at that! Just imagine, Leng, God’s plan for you. He failed you in Pitbabe so that you could land Kidnap under GMM. Think about it—this is your dream coming true. Work hard, buddy."

Leng: "I guess I'm not taking the role."

Moonon's jaw dropped like he’d seen a ghost.

Moonon: "Are you serious? Don’t joke about something like this."

Leng: "Do you really think I’m joking? I’m not working on this project."

Moonon: "But why? What’s your problem, Leng? Every time you have to do this, what's your damn problem? GMM is giving you a role—just take it. You won’t get anything better than this."

Leng: "Can’t you understand? How am I supposed to work with my year-long crush?"

Moonon’s jaw dropped again, and I didn’t even realize what I had just said.

Leng: "What do you want me to do when he already has his own partner, Nanon?"

Moonon: "Wait, Kidnap is a BL series, right?"

Leng: "Yes, you're right. Why?"

Moonon: "But I thought Ohm wouldn’t work in BL again after... that incident."

Leng: "Wait, what incident are you talking about?"

Moonon: "The time you ghosted Ohm, when he needed his friends the most. The time his life fell apart, and you were too caught up in your own messed-up world."

Leng: "Wait, tell me directly. I need to understand what he’s going through."

Moonon laughed.

Leng: "What?"

Moonon: "Now you want to understand? Then listen up." He paused. "After Bad Buddy started, you began pulling away from him because of your crazy crush and jealousy. That’s when the bullying topic surfaced, and Ohm’s life turned into hell."

Leng: "What actually happened?"

Moonon: "All his close friends left him when he needed them the most, even Nanon. Nanon worked with Ohm on Our Sky, but after that, things started to fall apart. They weren’t talking, they weren’t as close anymore. It was all just about work, money, and fans. No happiness left—it was just fan service. Eventually, Nanon left him."

Leng: "But how? They were so close."

Moonon: "Correction—they were close. At a fan event, they fought publicly. After that, things went downhill. Fans even started supporting Nanon, saying he was right to stay away from a bully."

Leng: "What?! How could they say that? Were they even there?"

Moonon: "Not only that—Nanon left, and Ohm fell into a deep depression. His best friend left him, and on top of that, people started hating him. Death threats, hate mail... It pushed him further into depression."

Leng: "What?! Death threats? How is that even possible? And you never told me this?"

Moonon: "You never listened to me before. But anyway, in the start of 2023, the first three months were the worst for him. He had no work, no events. Every time he went live, he apologized, but nothing helped. After six months, things started changing. He got stronger, thanks to Perth. They worked together on a non-BL series, and it helped Ohm get back on his feet. He’s here now, accepting your series offer."

Leng: "Ohhh..."

Moonon: "Not only that, we thought he might leave BL altogether—or even the acting industry. But thank God, he didn’t."

Leng: "I had no idea about any of this."

Moonon: "How would you? But now you know. You didn’t support him back then, but please, support him now. He needs you, Leng. His beautiful smile—the one you fell in love with—is gone. You have to help him get it back. You need to work with him, so he can work again and live his life like before."

I felt sick. I felt horrible for not supporting Ohm when he needed me the most. But now it was time to make it right. I would help him, no matter what. I was going to be strong for him. This time, I wasn’t going to let my feelings for him stop me from being the friend he needed. I would fill the gaps in his life, no matter what it took.

Moonon caught me off guard with a teasing grin. "Feeling bad for him? Don't worry, he’ll take care of himself. I’m there for him. You can reject the role if you want."

I knew he was teasing me.

Leng: "No, I’m taking this role. I need the money for my living. It’s hard to work for the family business."

We ended up teasing each other back and forth until the evening flew by.
