(Keefe's POV)

How could I not love the LOVE OF MY LIFE anymore?!

She's literally supposed to be the love of my life.

Has she really changed so much that I don't love her anymore? How did that even happen? There's no way that's the same Sophie I came to love. She's gotta be a different person or something. Wait...

The only way to know that the person he had just talked to was Foster... Would be that he had to do something big. Something only she would know.

"What are you planning now?" Axel asked, poking his head through Keefe's bedroom window.

"Dude, stop stalking me. I'm just drawing." Keefe muttered as he picked up his pencil and opened to a blank page of his sketchbook.

"We're not stalking you." Acel insisted. Keefe gave them both a knowing look before they sighed and muttered things under their breath.

Keefe turned back to his book, sketching the first image.

"Can't you just tell us what you're planning?" Axel pressed, squeezing his muscled body through the window to walk closer to Keefe. Acel did the same.

"It's a surprise. Now, come on, you guys gotta help me." Keefe instructed.

"What do you need help with?" Acel asked.

"You guys ask way too many questions..." Keefe mumbled.

"Like you don't." Axel countered. Keefe grinned.

Then the grin faded.

That was the first time he had smiled since the last moment he saw Sophie before she was kidnapped. And now he didn't smile at the thought of her face.

"Have you guys ever been in love?" Keefe whispered. Axel and Acel glanced at each other before shaking their heads.

"Not really." They admitted at the same time.

"Seriously? You're like... Thirty." Keefe pressed.

"Well... Once. But we don't talk about it." Axel muttered.

"What happened?" He asked.

"Two identical twins." Acel mumbled.

"That's all you need to know." Axel jumped in.

"Well... You've probably felt the heartbreak when you don't love them anymore, right?" Keefe whispered. Both of their eyes widened.

"You don't love Sophie anymore?" They both asked at the same time.

"She's changed so much... She's not the same person I started loving from the start. I've never felt the love I've felt for her before, and now that's it's gone... I feel... Empty." Keefe admitted. They both exchanged a look.

"We're sorry, dude." They both patted Keefe's back.

"No, no, it's fine. But if you wanna make me feel better, why don't you help me with this new plan?" Keefe suggested.

"What plan?" Axel pressed.

"We're gonna do something that's gonna catch Foster's attention." Keefe replied before shoving supplies in both of his bodyguard's hands.

(Sophie's POV)

I poured the love potion into the cookies.

I needed to do what I was meant to do.

And Keefe wasn't a part of that.

So I needed to get him out of the way before he got caught in the crossfire. I would be able to save him from Lady Gisela's plan.

Even if I had to sacrifice my own life.

(Keefe's POV)

The doorbell rang. Keefe stuffed his sketchbook under the bed, shoved past his bodyguards, and sprinted down the stairs before opening the door.

"Foster?" Keefe asked.

She was carrying a plate of cookies.

"Hey, Keefe. I noticed you've been a little upset lately, so I brought you some of your favorite cookies." She said with a smile. Keefe glanced at the cookies, and his mouth watered. He grabbed one and stuffed it in his mouth, making Sophie laugh.

Suddenly, he could hear his heartbeat in his ears.

When he opened his eyes, he gasped. Sophie looked so beautiful. The way her hair glistened in the sunlight behind her.

The golden sheen in her eyes was back.

Maybe the golden sheen didn't determine if she was acting like herself. The golden glimmering in her eyes determined if he loved her. And he did, right now. He loved her so, so much. More than he ever had.

"You look beautiful." Keefe whispered, wrapping his arm around Sophie. She giggled. The sound made his heart flutter.

"Come on, Keefe. Let's go to the movies." Sophie suggested.

"Alright. As long as I get to stay with you." Keefe whispered, kissing her forehead. Sophie laughed again, hooked her arm around Keefe's, and pulled him towards the theater.

Little did he know, she was going to save his life.

By sacrificing her own.
