(Starting on page 668 of Nightfall in Keefe's perspective! This is also a really popular Sokeefe moment)

Chills ran across Foster's arms, and since I could feel her emotions so well, goosebumps covered my arms as well. A realization seemed to click into place in Foster's mind.

"Is it harder to be around me?" She asked. "Since my emotions are stronger?"

I smirked. "Don't worry, you're worth it." I assured her. Now all she had to do was realize how much I meant that and realize that I like her...

"Ugh, why didn't you tell me?" Foster complained, standing up and trying to put space between us. I laughed.

"Trust me, a few feet doesn't make a difference." I replied. But it felt nice to know she cared that much.

"Then you should stay away from me." Foster insisted.

"Now you're being ridiculous." I stepped closer, and when she tried to step farther away, she crashed into the wall.

"I'm serious, Keefe." Foster whispered.

"Oh, I know. But you're forgetting something, Foster." I told myself to be brave as I leaned even closer and tucked some of her shiny blonde hair behind her ear.

"I like a challenge."

Fluttery feelings flooded my senses again, and they weren't just from me. They were from her. My smile was as soft as my whisper.

"Speechless again?"

"What's your happy place?" I asked quietly.

"Probably flying with Silveny." Foster replied.

"That's a good one." I decided. "I'm going to picture myself there too. Just you, me, and Glitter Butt."

(Skip some sentences)

"You know what I remember most about that flight with Silveny? That was the first time I felt you trust me. Like, really trust me." I mumbled. It was a moment I would never forget because it was hard for most people to trust me behind my jokes. Foster did it almost immediately. Didn't that prove she was right for me?

"I like it when you trust me." I whispered. Something changed in Foster's expression. Something I couldn't interpret with my empathy. But I knew that expression would change everything she thought about me.

Foster shoved a Panakes blossom in my mouth and ordered me to swallow it.

"It looks worse than it is." I told her, choking on the petals. But I didn't want her to see my stomach because then she'd be super worried and she'd get that worry crinkle between her eyebrows.

"Come on, Keefe, I need to press the blossoms into the wound." Foster begged. Worry and annoyance and fear washed over me, but I tried to ignore it.

"Nah, I'm good. And hey, I got you a souvenir!" I held out the bloody stone from Dimitar's ear.

Foster shook her head, tears streaming down her cheeks.

"Seriously," I said gently when she tried to move my arm again. "No need to get blood on your gloves, or Dex's very special cuffs."

Foster sighed, wiping her eyes. "Show me."

"If you wanted to check out my abs-"

"Show me." She repeated, her voice cracking.

I cringed and pulled back my arm, letting Foster see the wound.

But I knew the wound was worth it, because it stopped Foster from having to deal with any pain. She didn't deserve to be injured. But I did. And I owed her after my stupid decision of fake joining the Neverseen.

So I knew that anything ahead was deserved. By me.

*Eeeeekkk so cute!!!

Anyway, that's all for today. Hope you're all doing well and that you enjoyed that!
