Me, my potato chips, and Tyler walk to where our friends are. Tyler walking with me was probably the unexpected because people turned to look at us like we're some art piece in an art gallery. Not different from how they reacted when they saw me and Christian together earlier. Even though I don't make it obvious, I scan around to find Christian. Our eyes meet and I sense the tension between us. I clearly don't know what's up with this guy, he doesn't want me close but again he does and we're not friends or lovers but we're certainly not enemies?

"Hey vicks, you're riding with me right."

I don't know if I just over analyse it but Raven side eyes me—just a little. I think she still likes him but is still in denial. And maybe she planned on riding with him.

"Uhm no thank you." I say, smiling to make sure it doesn't sound rude.

"Ohhh mannn, when are you going to fall for me."

"I can ride with lexi though. Atleast I'm falling for one of the triplets."

"No fair."

"Sadly me and my two friends are riding with my goofyhead sister because my car broke down, you came with Christian so I think it's only wise you go to the party with him." Alexa says.

Christian says nothing,he doesn't agree or disagree. He just stands there looking better than my potato chips.

"Oh so–rey, I'm riding with Christian, right Chris?" Of course Beverly had to say her say. I'm not saying I'm jealous but it's kinda pissing how she's always needy for his attention. Or maybe he does wanna ride with her and I'm just a bitter asshole, I mean he didn't say anything about the suggestion of riding with me so he's probably not for it.

"Okay.....then Victoria can ride with Tyler, they are already bonding as it seems." Lexi suggests.

I really feel awkward right now, like an unplanned for child. I guess I should have come with my own car or better yet, not agree to the whole after party thing. I have a book to finish.

"Pass." Tyler says and walks away in the direction of his car. I don't know why but that hurt.

"Oh don't worry about me, I'll take an uber........plus my mum needs my help with something so I'll be going home." I hope it doesn't sound like I'm hurt because I am. I was just trying to step out of my comfort zone and now I feel rejected.

I guess it's called a comfort zone for a reason.

"Bev has her own car, you're riding with me."

"Yeah Victoria, we can't have you miss your first party."

"I really have to go home."

"See, she has to go to her mama, let her, I don't get why y'all want her to come with us so bad."

"Then I'll take her." Christian says, sounding serious like he's letting them know it's final. He didn't want to say anything about riding with me in the first place so why is he saying it now, like he wanted me to know there's no one I can ride with.

I forgot why I hate him, thanks for the reminder.

Just then, my Uber driver arrives and I couldn't be more grateful.

"Bye guys....I'll see you on Monday."

"Bye Victoria." They say in unison.

I hear doors banging behind me and engines coming to life signalling their departure as I walk to my uber. Whatever hurt I felt a couple of minutes ago gone, like it vanished in thin air and blended in with the night.

I say hi to the uber driver and open the car door. I'm about to get in but a hand stops me from doing that.

"Hey man, sorry for the inconvenience but she already has a ride. Here is her bill. Thank you for understanding."

He gives the Uber driver some notes and pulls me away from the car.

"What the fuck is wrong with you?"

"What the fuck is wrong with me? No, what the fuck is wrong with you, I told you I'd give you a ride back but you decided to call an Uber."

"You didn't agree or disagree when Alexa said so."

"Yeah, because I already told you I'd give you a ride but no, you wanted to go with your friend."

"Because you started giving me your negative vibes again."

"I don't remember telling people we're nothing but enemies but I remember you saying it, how cute."

"Waittttt, that pissed you off?"

"Yeah."

Oh.

Oh.

"Can we get in the car now."
I say nothing but I follow him to his car, he opens the door for me and closes it when I get in. How gentlemanly of him.

I don't know why he makes me nervous, I don't know why his presence is so intoxicating and I don't know why the proximity intensifies my heart rate. Does he feel the same way? Or am I just an anxious person.

The low hum of the engine fills the car as I settle into the passenger seat beside Christian. His presence beside me sends a thrill through me, the closeness almost intoxicating. I try to appear composed, but my heart races with anticipation.

"Buckle up," Christian says casually, his voice sending a shiver down my spine.

I nod, my fingers trembling slightly as I reach for the seat belt. It seems to elude my grasp, and just as I'm about to give up, Christian's warm hand covers mine. His touch is electric.

Gosh.......I think there was a percentage of alcohol in those potato chips.

"Let me help you," he murmurs, his voice soft and reassuring. Fuck, why is he being nice to me.

I hold my breath as he deftly fastens the seat belt across my chest. His fingers brush against my skin, leaving a trail of warmth in their wake. I can't tear my eyes away from him, captivated by the intensity in his gaze. I still don't understand why we're staring at each other. His eyes are just so .....Blue.

Blue

Blue eyes.

Anonymous mask guy kind of blue eyes.

Why does he have to plague my mind now. I'll never see him again so I should get over it.

But before I do, is he as gorgeous as Christian?
