I woke up due to sunshine beaming through my eyelids. Before I even opened them all memory of last night kicked in. I was ready to call it a day before I even opened my eyes for the day. I sighted. I definitely wouldn't fall asleep again.
I sat up straight and looked around. Naomi was peacefully sleeping next to me. I took a look at my phone. 9:27AM. We agreed to set our alarm to 10AM during dinner yesterday and wanted to get going before noon. We would skip breakfast at the hotel to get to the airport early for our transatlantic flight. Probably we would eat pizza at the airport or something like that. So I had 33 minutes to fill before the girls could distract me. My thoughts already wandered off to George but I directed them somewhere else. When did Naomi and Sarah come home? Did Sarah come home at all? When I left she was still dancing with Carlos and I would not be surprised if she slept at his. I smiled. Quite a weekend for our group.
I took out my phone and scrolled through Instagram and a few apps. My mind evolved around the driver's Instagram pages but I decided against looking them up. Instead I googled „Carlos Sainz single" and "Charles Leclerc single". I kind of knew Charles being single but I was pretty sure Carlos was in a relationship. I have seen several pictures with him and a brunette during this season. I found some of the pictures I remembered and many more with him and that brunette woman. I sighted. I mean I had no clue if Sarah went home with him yet and it is actually unfair of me to think he would be not loyal, but I had a bad feeling in my stomach. Should I mention it to Sarah? Did she know? I thought about that question for a few minutes and was happy for the topic that brought me distraction.
I thought about it a while when I heard a door. Probably Elsa or Sarah from their bedroom going to the bathroom. But the door sounded heavy when it fell close and I heard Sarah curse. My eyes went big as I realized she just came home now. I giggled. I know my girl so well. But who knows who's she been with? Maybe it wasn't even Carlos. I would not reveal I heard her coming home and was looking forward to hearing the story. I was pretty sure she would tell us - Sarah is pretty opened minded, when it comes down to stuff like that.
I went back to bed so she would not hear me being awake and couldn't resist scrolling through the drivers instagram profiles.
After everyone was awake the chaos of packing begun. We all were kind of tense because of the long flight and the hours in the small plane seats. We would have to take another flight home from Atlanta and would arrive after midnight at home. It was a stressful day and there was simply no way I could have fitted brunch in it. Probably George wasn't even in bed for more than three hours by now. He also wouldn't have made it to brunch. It was for the best this way.
I had my handluggage suitcase fully packed and tried to decide what to put in my „personal item"-bag that I would take to my seat. AirPods, phone charger, passport, money, my book I had no time to read during this trip, and a scarf. My neck always got stiff with the cold airplane air and it doubled as pillow. I wore my favorite pair of leggings and a loose T from vineyard vines. My favorite brand from Massachusetts. I adored their pink whale logo and this one had the huge pink whale with a baseball cap on its back. I put my hair up in a bun and hanged my hoodie over my suitcase. I downloaded a few episodes of gossip girl on Netflix and thought about what else I need to make it through this flight day. I was satisfied and waited for the others to finish up packing. Naomi hasn't even collected her stuff from the bathroom. I rolled my eyes. Typical. It already was 11:32AM and we had to check out before noon. Since I was already done packing I suggested I would check us out in the mean time. I took all our key cards and went outside to the elevators. I hoped I was even able to check out for us, as Sarah had made the reservation and I haven't taken my passport with me.. I decided to try anyway and went down to the lobby. The man on the desk did not care about my passport nor my name and I was happy for the stressfree interaction.
