Biology does not connect us
Marriage does not connect us
Distant cousins do not connect us
But we are family either way
You are my brothers and sisters
You all have been there for me
Through the thickest of fog
And the heaviest of storms
I've seen people fall around me
I've cried over dust like it was gold
You all have kept me up and walking
This family we've built around trust
Around kindness, Love, and care
The place all of you hold in my heart and life
Take this ode, this poem
As a sign of my gratitude
Let's grow as people together
As a chosen family in kind arms
I love you all

[This goes out to my chosen family. I love you guys so much and I do not know how else to thank you but give you my time and care. People say biological family should be first but that is a lie especially when I've met the best people in the world by chance. You guys mean more than the air I breath and no its not because I'm dependent on you all, it's because we stand together as one. I've found hope within this small family we've created, and I could never be more grateful.)
