I finish up my classes for today and head to the skatepark per usual. Once I get there, I pay the entry fee and put my stuff in a locker then head out to skate.

Im doing a couple tricks on the big ramp when some random scooter baby went in front of me as I dropped in.

Now instead of me being an asshole and hitting the kid (and possibly killing the little bitch), I stop and flip over the child and land funny on my shoulder. Now I know my dad is gonna be absolutely fucking furious with me now that I ended up hurting myself.

I touch my shoulder and holy fuck it hurts.

"That little scooter shitass." I mumble as go and grab my board. I grab my stuff from the locker and wave by to the familiar staff members. I pull out my phone to text my dad.

Father

Lilly
Hey dad
Sorry to bother you at work but I really
hurt my shoulder while skating.

After a couple of minutes my dad responds.

Father
Just go home and talk to your mother.
I'm in a meeting

Paige
Ok dad.

I put my phone away and walk home. My shoulder got worse as I walk the mile home. As soon as I got home, I told my mom what happened with that little scooter bitch.

She said if it isn't better tomorrow morning she'll take to the doctor.

'God I hate going to the hospital.' I think as I ice my shoulder watching cartoons with Peter.

The pain didn't go away and it just gets worse. So instead of skating to school, I'm in the car with my mom on the way to the hospital.

Once I arrive and check with my mom, I sit in the waiting area for what feels like 40 years. I'm finally called in by the nurse and follow her down the cold hallways in to the small hospital room.

I do the normal confirmation and check up stuff with the nurse and wait another century for the doctor to show up.

The doctor is a tall man with a half bald head in a military outfit.

"Hello there Ms Williams, I'm Dr Summers. I've heard your here for a real sore shoulder. Is that right?" He asks with kind smile as he sits in the chair.

"Yeah some stupid annoying scooter kid got in my way while skateboarding." I give the honest truth about the little shitass.

"Alrighty then. Mind if I have a look at the little scooter kid injury?" He say with the same smile.

"Oh yeah sure." I said as I roll up the sleeve of my t-shirt to reveal a massive bruise with some cuts in the center of it.

"That doesn't seem like a very good fall." He says while looking. "My daughter always gets a sore shoulder from softball."

"That's cool. Is it ok if a ask a question Doc?" I ask, the curiosity evident in my voice.

"Shoot." Dr Summers says as he rolls my sleeve back down and smiles at me.

"Why are you in a military uniform of your a doctor?"

"Oh sorry, I shouldn't be explained. I'm a military doctor so my daughter and I move around a lot because of my job." He explains with his same soft, kind smile that he's had the whole time.

"I'm gonna give you some good pain meds to help with you with the pain. Try not to have scooter kids get in your way again." He says smiling.

"Thanks doc. Have a great rest of your day."

"You too Ms Williams." He says with his smile as I walk back to the lobby.
