Chapter 13

Lilly's POV

Over the next 2 and a half months, my test scores were ever so slowly improving from flat Fs to high Ds and it's all because of the new girl.

I'm at the skatepark listening to music at an ungodly level. I decide to take a break and get some doughnuts from the gas station with my best friend, Mika. He was paying for the doughnuts when I see Paige enter the gas station on her phone.

My face heats up as pray to whatever god will listen that the girl won't see me out like this. I look like a complete and utter mess from me skating and the fact I've worn the same cloths the whole weekend.

Mika looks at me and instantly notices my flushed face.

"Looks like our schools player has fallen for the new girl." Mika says teasingly with a matching smirk.

"Oh fuck you dipshit. You've been a relationship for 4 years now. And your wrong shitass." I reply annoyed as Mika snickers with a raised eyebrow.

"Your enjoying this aren't you asshole?" I ask even though I already know the answer.

"Yeperoo motherfucker." He says walking out with the doughnuts as I catch up.

'This bitch.' I think as I steal a doughnut in retaliation.

"You asshole! That was mine!" Mika fake whines as I engulf half the doughnut and run my free hand through my shaggy messy hair, heading back to the skatepark next door to the gas station.

Once we get back to the skatepark, Mika and I are sitting on the side watching all kinds of skaters skate as we eat our doughnuts. As I'm enjoying mine, Mika speaks up.

"Ya know Lils... you can date people. Not just hook up with randos when your drunk and or high." Mika says with a sincere tone and smile.

"Mika, if your trying to say that I should date the new girl, quit it." I say, a hint of annoyance in my voice.

"You know that's not what I'm saying. But that might be a good thing Lilly." Mika tries to reason with my stubbornness.

"Yeah sure." I say annoyed as I finish my last doughnut and grab my skateboard then head to the ramps, leaving Mika alone as he tries to hurry up and skate with me.

I head home after a couple hours, Mika walking me with me until we reach his house.

"Get skate session, jerk. See ya on Monday." I say with a smile as I playfully punch my best friend in the arm as he head to his front door.

I walk alone to my house, dreading the idea my dad is back early from work.

I reach my driveway and to my unfortunate surprise, my fathers car is in there. I enter my house to see my dad and brother playing video games and I walk up to the stairs to get to my room.

I sit in my room, blaring music into my ears as I do some homework before it's due for the first time in literal years.

I get a text from Mika saying there's a party tonight and who am I to pass that up.

I close my phone and finish the current page of homework (again for the first time in years) and get dressed for the party.

After about 2 more hours, I hear the persistent beeping of my best friend's car.

I leave my room and quickly leave before my parents can say a thing. Once I get to Mika's car, we drive to Peggy's Morrisons, the richest bitch at our school house.
