Chapter 24

"Paige? What in the ever living fuck are you doing here?" My dad says as he looks at me in pure confusion and even more confusion as he sees me with a random boy.

Mika then looks at me, even more confused than my dad is at the moment.

"Hey dad." I say, thinking about how I can explain why I'm at the hospital for a girl he didn't know I knew.

"Mika here is Lilly's best friend. I was walking past the skate park when I heard yelling and the ambulance sirens so I went to check it out." I pause take a breath as I say all this, Mika nodding his head as I tell the story. "As I entered the skate park, the paramedics did as well and when they took Lilly, Mika followed them and saw me, then asked for a ride because he knows I'm kinda friends with Lilly."

My dad looks slightly less confused with the situation. "One of the other nurses is trying to contact Lilly's parents, do one of you think you could get a hold of her parents?" My dad asks, looking Mika in particular.

"Oh, yeah sure." Mika pipes up as he grabs his phone. "Lilly's dad never answers the phone because he's busy with work usually. I think Lilly's mom is on a business trip. I don't think either will come to the hospital though." Mika explains as I he dials one of Lilly's parents.

"Lilly will be fine, all she need was some stitches on the back of her head. We put her on some pain killers so she might be a bit out of it when she wakes up, ok?" My dad explains as Lilly turns on to her side.

"Paige, can we talk?" My dad asks as he steps out of the hospital room as I follow close behind.

"Why are you here Paige, really?" My dad asks, his tone serious. A tone of voice I hardly ever heard him use.

"Like I said dad, I'm here because I know Lilly and that I gave Mika a ride here to the hospital, ok?" I said, not understanding why my father was asking why I at the hospital.

"Alright alright. Just so you know, it's fine that your here." My dad says, all seriousness gone as he gives me a reassuring smile and hugs me.

"It's also ok to like her more than a friend Paige." My dad says, still hugging me knowing that he'll get a raise out of me.

I immediately go red in the face as I hear my dad say that. "I don't like her like that dad." I say as I pull away from the hug and playfully slap my dads arm as I look shocked at what my father said.

I walk back into the room as my dad walks away, laughing his head off. Mika looks confused as I walk back into the room as Lilly starts to wake up.

My playful demeanor changed back to concerned as Mika and I both look at Lilly.

Mika almost immediately gets up to check on his best friend and I walk over beside him.

Lilly slowly wakes up and I feel a wave a relief wash over me.

Lilly's POV

I wake up feeling lightheaded as bright florescent light stare down at me, basically blinding me as I attempt to sit up.

I feel a hand on my shoulder as I try to get up. I glance at the person only to see Mika and Paige looking at me, their faces filled with concern.

I feel so out of it. Probably from the drugs the doctors gave me

Mika explains that I fell off the 12 foot drop in ramp. 'Explains the pain I feel.' I think to myself as I feel my head pounding.

"You took a pretty hard fall Lils." Mika says as he takes his hand off my shoulder.

I look at Paige, a smile creeping it's way onto my face as I stare at the blonde girl. I feel that same feeling I felt just before I fell, the butterflies in my stomach.

Mika probably sense I wanted to say something to Paige as he gets up and heads to the door.

"I'm gonna grab some doughnuts Lils. I'll be back in half a hour." Mika says as he walks out and closes the door.

"Ok, see in a bit Mika." I look back at Paige, her blonde hair partially glowing in the light. 'She looks beautiful.'

Paige and I lock eyes and I feel my face heat up as I start spilling my feelings out.

"Paige, you are just so amazing. Your super nice and you helped me get better at school even when I so mean to you. Oh my god I was mean to you. I'm so sorry for being me. I don't know why I was so mean to you. Your just so hot and pretty and sweet. I just really want to go on a date with you. I don't even know what I'm doing right now because your the first girl to make me feel this was and I jus- mhm!"  My rambling was put to a stop as Paige presses her lips on mine.

"It's funny Lilly. I was just about to say something really similar." Paige says as she pulled away from the kiss

I stare the girl for what feels like hours before I lean in and kiss her.
